Character Creation in Lords of the Fallen (LotF) allows players to fully customize their character. There are some features, like Class, that define what kind of character players will control throughout the game. There is a wide variety of features players are able to customize. From aesthetic features, such as body types, face, hair, etc. to gamestyle defining characteristics like starting Class.
Do my aesthetic selections have an impact on gameplay?
No, they don't. Players' selections regarding gender, body and head types, hairstyles, etc. don't have any impact on gameplay. This allows players to truly select what represents best their style, without having to think about any stat loss in the process. The only gameplay-defining selection, and only at the beginning of the game, is the decision of which Class to choose. Regardless, Classes provide a starting point for players, once they are thrown into the Realms, they are able to build up their characters as they see fit.
Can I change my Appearance after Character Creation?
Since Update v.1.1.414, players can now complete an additional questline in order to unlock the Mirror of Distortion in Skyrest Bridge. Successfully activating the Mirror will allow players to modify their character's appearances and reenter a stage of Character Creation. This will enable you to modify your body shape, gender, skin tone, hair color, facial features, and even your name.
What is the best beginner class in Lords of the Fallen?
When starting a new game, newcomers to the genre will want to choose one of the higher level classes that boast more damage and health and focus on an easier playstyle than their counterparts. The two better choices for the newer player are the Udirangr Warwolf, boasting heavy damage and a decent healthpool focusing more on DPS and the Hallowed Knight, wearing powerful armor and radiant sorceries to win fights while sporting very good defense.
Still, if you feel adventurous and are willing to get past the learning curve all classes bar the Condemned (Reserved for truly hardcore players) are powerful in their own right.

Class Selection
At the start of the character creation, the first label, indicates the Class you have to select in order to begin. Things to have into consideration when selecting the ideal class are:
- Previous experience with games of the genre: Either if you are an experienced player or a newcomer to the souls-like genre.
- Style of play: Do you prefer to fight up-close and personal, abuse the magic system or fight from a safe distance?
- Playing with a friend: Are you playing solo or with a friend? Try to complement your friend's playstyle to be an all-around duo.
- If you want to learn more about this topic, please refer to the Classes page.
These are some basics tips for choosing a class, players should feel free to experiment and find the class that suits them best.
Detailed Appearance
This section offers a variety of controls to tweak the aspect of the character. These options are divided in 8 groups:
Character Appearance
Once the introduction is complete, we can begin character creation. This process consists of 3 phases: first, you'll select from the various available Classes, then you'll configure the character's Head appearance, and finally, the Body.
Within the Head Menu, you can decide from 3 types of shapes: Head A, Head B, or Head C. Additionally, you'll have the option to change Skin Color, Hairstyle, and Facial Hair.
If you wish to delve deeper and give it a more personalized look, you can also configure the Face appearance and Tattoos.
Skin Color Customization
Inside the Skin Color menu, you have the choice of selecting from a variety of 21 preset options. However, if you prefer, you can also fine-tune the skin tone by adjusting the values of Hue, Saturation, and Brightness to achieve the exact shade you desire
Face, Eye Color and Shape Customization
When configuring the face shape, you have a vast menu at your disposal. You can select and mold your appearance by picking the character's age, eye color, eye shape, nose shape, ear shape, mouth shape, and cheekbone structure. This allows for a highly detailed and customized character creation experience.
Inside the eye color selection menu, you can customize your character's eyes using various alternatives until you achieve the desired color.
Eye Shape
When it comes to the shape of the eyes, after selecting your eye color, you have 18 different shapes to choose from to best match your preferences:
Nose Shape Customization
When it comes to the nose shape, similar to the options for eyes, you have a variety of alternatives to choose from. The game offers a selection of 18 different nose shapes, allowing you to find the one that suits your preferences.
Facial Features Customization
In addition to the basics, you can also fine-tune specific facial features, including the shape of the ears, mouth, and even the cheekbones. With patience and attention to detail, you can modify these aspects until you achieve the perfect facial appearance for your character.
Hairstyle Customization
For selecting your character's hairstyle, hair color, and length, the game provides 22 different preset styles to select from. However, if none of these preset styles align with your preferences, you can also modify them. By adjusting the values of Hue, Saturation, and Brightness, you can achieve the desired hairstyle and hair color, ensuring your character reflects your unique vision.
Body Customization
Once you've successfully selected the head style and all its details, including eyes, hair, and tattoos, in the Body section, you can further customize your character's appearance by adjusting their muscularity, height, and physique. To achieve the desired character, you can choose from various preset styles or, if needed, fine-tune the settings by moving the cursor within the configuration triangle until you attain the desired figure.
Skin Color Customization
The skin color customization system is similar to that of the eyes. The game provides a total of 21 alternative skin tones available for selection. However, if none of the preset tones align with your preferences, you can use the HUE, Saturation, and Brightness sliders to adjust your preferences until you achieve the desired skin color
Tattoo Customization
There's also the option to add tattoos to your character. If you're a fan of body art, you'll find a wide array of choices that allow you to decorate your character's skin with various designs and shapes. You can specify the body parts where you'd like to place tattoos, be it the chest, back, left arm, right arm, left leg, or right leg.
Classes in Lords of the Fallen (LotF) are the combination of combat archetypes and Magic Types available at Character Creation. Choosing a class determines the character's base Stats and the Equipment they start with. Hexwork has stated that there will be 10 different Classes to pick from. This page covers each class, their attribute point allocation, and equipment.
What is the best Class in Lords of the Fallen?
There is no such thing as best class in Lords of the Fallen. Players can experience the Realms of Axiom and Umbral with any of the 10 available Classes. All of them are viable to reach the end of the game. They provide a different starting point at the beginning of the game, but then it is up to players which direction they will build upon as they traverse through the Realms.
A staple for Souls like games, the Condemned represents the ultimate challenge from the beginning, as it is the class with the lowest overall points in total.
Are there hidden or unlockable Classes in Lords of the Fallen?
Besides the 9 staring Classes (10 if you pre-ordered the game) available in Lords of the Fallen, there are 4 unlockable ones which are:
These are not available at the start of the game, and have to be unlocked in order to be selected. You cannot change your class with respec, so you can only use the new classes with a new character. Their equipment, however, can be found within the game.
Lords of the Fallen Classes Guide
What's the best starting class in Lords of the Fallen?
If Lords of the Fallen is your first souls-like game, deciding your class is a vital decision. For those players who are first experiencing the game, it is important to learn that, even though you cannot change class later on, you can decide to focus on different Stats builds as you level up. Aspects like playstyle, experience in third person RPG games, and even tolerance to frustration should be considered when selecting a class.
The Hallowed Knight or Orian Preacher are good starting classes, given the typical sword and shield equipment and the best stats of all 9 base classes in Endurance, making of them ideal classes for starting players. Orian Preacher diverging from the classic warrior, has a great ranged spell and its hammer scales with Radiance which has great synergy.

Builds for Lords of the Fallen
Builds for Lords of the Fallen (LotF) focuses on various combinations of Equipment, such as Weapons and Armor, Accessories, Magic, and Stats that players can find extremely useful for successfully achieving their goals during their playthrough. Below you can find a variety of builds that we recommend players try and use. If you want to add your builds, please click here to find builds created and shared by the community.
What is min maxing?
Min-maxing is a very common practice in RPGS that allows players to maximize the stats of a character that will contribute most to what your character needs, while minimizing the stats that don't contribute to that particular build.
In Lords of the Fallen, for example, the Hallowed Knight can be seen as the best class to start if you want to min-max the build of a Strength-oriented tank. Given that it has high stats in the required Stats, while having the minimum in those that are not relevant for that kind of build. On the other hand, it may not be ideal to be selected if you want to build a Spellcaster class, given the high amount of Stats not relevant to that playstyle.

Lords of the Fallen Community Builds
This section can be used for the different builds created by the community.
They need to update Character Creation badly. Most of the menus are broken and on controller the selection will go somewhere you don't know.
But more glaringly these problems persist:
-No femboy options. You can't make a hot or cute guy character as all the face textures for Male are rough to the touch and have stubble or massive wrinkles. The stubble is tied to your Face Texture as they baked the stubble into the texture itself. Changing age to young doesn't actually make you look young. You still look wrinkled. You just go from wrinkled to even more wrinkled.
-The Females don't share the same faces with Males and Vice Versa. So you if there is a head you like on Female and wish to use on Male, you cannot. Elden Ring has this feature and allows you to make Pretty Men.
-There's no sliders for fine tuning the face. Fine Tuning has this triangle thing that doesn't tell you anything and most of the time does nothing. There's not a slider that just says "Chin Width" or "Eye Size" or even "Mouth Height" and etc. These are just Morph Targets/ShapeKeys/Blendshapes, they are easy to add in UE4 and UE5.
-The Character Options you are stuck with are unappealing. They all look ultra Sharpened and rough. You can't even look like the blonde lady wearing a crown of thorns from the cgi trailer. She's pretty. So they intentionally made you ugly. It's easy to make a ugly character but you can't really make a character that looks good because of the lack of options.
-Add more Precise Body Sliders. I'd want to change the size of my hips and my waist independently with traditional and easy sliders. The triangle system is restrictive. You can keep the current triangle system but just add bone size adjustment sliders that go on top of it. This is VERY easy to do in UE5 and UE4 via the anim_bp.
Things they could quickly add as it takes minimal time to make, I know from experience:
-Add a New Face Choice that is conventionally average/attractive and a new Face Texture Option that is smooth and delicate for both Male and Female. If they decide to add more Face Sliders down the line, this head will be a great template for those wishing to mold their face into something more unique or prettier. I don't think they are using separate head meshes. Just different Blendshapes for the separate faces so you would add the prettier face as a new Morph Target and the new Face Texture will literally just be a Texture for your face like all the others. Very easy to do in UE5 and UE4.
-Add NPC Hair like Pieta. Pieta has better hair than most of the choices the player can have.
-Add Makeup options. We have tattoo options already you can just throw some makeup there for now. Every Dark Souls had Makeup and even Elden Ring did. Demon's Souls Remake also has makeup.
