Spears | Lords of the Fallen Wiki

Spears in Lords of the Fallen (LotF) are one of the Melee Weapons that players can wield. LOTF Spears are long-reaching weapons, allowing players to attack foes from a safe distance. They are excellent for thrusting attacks and are effective for keeping enemies at bay, making them a popular choice for defensive players. Note that the stability for ALL Spears is 18%.

Runes Lords of the Fallen

Runes are small items imbued with magic that can be slotted into Weapons and Shields, granting them different bonuses. Players may find Runes scattered throughout the world and from Enemies. There are four different shapes for Rune Slots, and each is related to one of 4 main Stats. Players have to match the Rune shape with the one of the Rune Slot in order to be able to socket them. Note that some higher level tier equipment, may have a fifth rune slot shape, that allows players to socket ANY of the four available Rune shapes.

Players will unlock Rune Slots as they upgrade Weapons and Shields. A fully leveled piece of equipment may have up to three Rune Slots.

Runes that possess this shape are related to the Strength attribute.
Runes that possess this shape are related to the Agility attribute.
Runes that possess this shape are related to the Radiance attribute.
Runes that possess this shape are related to the Inferno attribute.

Upgrades in Lords of the Fallen

To upgrade weapons you must first unlock Gerlinde, the blacksmith in Skyrest Bridge.

She will improve your weapons by using Upgrade Materials on them. The level of weapon upgrades is determined by its total plus or +. For example, if a weapon has seven levels of upgrades, it will be presented as Weapon +7. The higher the +, the stronger the weapon gets.

  This weapon has a sweetspot mechanic but unlike dark souls where its a punishment for being too close. Here it's just bonus damage, very good bonus at that. You do full damage if you're too close but about 28%? more at the right spacing. Tested against my hammer with the same atk pwr as my spear.

  It’s a shame that using spears just feels so damn underwhelming. It would be awesome if the moveset offered just a tiny bit of variety as using them gets stale pretty quickly. Better yet, having a unique “dual wield” move set when used in combination with a shield like the Huntress has would be awesome. Highly unlikely it’ll ever get changed but one can dream.

  I love how if you two hand a spear and do a running heavy attack, you jump on the enemy and impale them on the ground, such an awesome animation

  Do any of these spears have a sort of slashing attack at all? Coming from Dark Souls I'm a Partizan user so I like my spears to have a slashing heavy so that I'm not stuck with only thrusting attacks.

  I believe I'm seeing significant 'sweet spot's damage with old mournstead spear 2h when enemies are hit with only the point. Is this expected/documented?
