One of the better Umbral spells imo. Fastest cast you can get for an umbral spell, medium range, high damage for either single target or AOE, big AOE size, very good damage to mana cost ratio. Latimer's javelin is the only thing that competes with this spell, but this spell has the advantage of faster cast speed over the javelin, while javelin has more range.

This spell is great in pvp as well due to the delayed explosion after casting! You can use it defensively (kinda) or offensively.

The spell is sold by Molhu after making some progression.

I managed to have him sell it really early (before killing a single beacon boss).

I only did the start of pilgrim reach reached bellroom vestige, bought the 9.5k souls key (can farm the pike head at the vestige to get that reasonably fast) and rushed to unlock both vestiges past the bell door from vestige of bellroom. (Manse path vestige and the Path of devotion one)

When I came back to Molhu his store was updated with multiple new goodies including this spell

This spell is absurd, was able to beat 4 main boss in a row without knowing anything about them first try. With Lord's berescu catalyst +10 and Faceless Carving / Puissance Root + one other ring (I use Manastone for passive regen coupled with my mana regen shield it is nice to clear area but you can use something like Panoptic ring or Ring of Night's Fire for extra damage on boss).

If you place the orb well it can deal close to 2k per cast (it can hit multiple time stacking wither on boss then detonating). I don't think it will stay like this as it trivialise boss and trash alike (big aoe). You can use Diminishing Missile on boss / Heavy Mob it seems to give a 10% increase damage on all damage taken by the target.
