Might seem goofy but I've been using it on a greatsword. Haven't poisoned anything, killed everything before poison was applied. Not sure if the bosses I've fought are immune to poison or what, but not one of them has been poisoned.

I used this through out the game on dual Jeffrey's daggers in regular game, NG+ and NG++
1st playthrough was rough, however 2nd and 3rd became completely trivial even with increased boss hp.
Using Pendant of Burden + Bloodbane ring + Dark Crusader's Convalescence (for quality of life, could replace with Grayson's Ring)
6 runes that increased damage when dual wielding (Dimexus from reapers).
My damage at level 225 without the Posion Weapon buff is around ~300. With the buff it goes up to ~725 for light attacks. Additionally poison ticks for ~400-500 depending on enemy. It is insanely good even on regular mobs.
Bosses just melt like butter. Having Bleed + Poison + Weather + Forstbite yeilds +28% damage increase (7% per status effect) from Pendant of Burden. 14% of which is thanks to this spell (and some from bleed + direct damage increase).

So far this spell was best for me, I tried holy + umbral combinations with different weapons, and they are not as good in terms of raw damage, but could of course improve other aspects of life such as healing via smite proc + bramble ring.

Do we know how much poison build up this adds to the weapon and if the poison build up rate scales with the catalyst spell power?

Added damage seems to scale with spellpower. 220 and 227 damage with quick attack on same dude with 326sp vs 212. Overall it seems like flat amount but a bit inconsistent, i got 55 to 62 added to quick attack with various weapons. Some math dude needed for further research. Poisoning seems to scale too but that need testing. I got it stacked with 9 and 10 attacks with 326/212sp

Seems to add a flat amount of attack power to the weapon. Not sure if it scales with anything, but my two-handed light attacks gain 100ish damage while it's active.
