So the description above is wronge? It actually gives you a 30% item drop buff in umbral if in 2nd or 3rd slot. What percentage if its in the 1st slot? Just say if you do a greaves strike. To my understanding this is. In umbral, where enemy down with a projectile. Then pull there soul and hit it till the actual enemy falls with a red dot. Hit r1 and you actually hit them with your lamp.

I started the game all over again to get a second umbral eye of ethryg, fufilled the quest but didn't get the eye. What do you think, is this a bug?

Just tested this as of 10/28, current Patch on PC.
The 30% in the secondary socket does work, or at least increases the value of item discovery in the character tab, but I did not get any increase in item discovery after parrying like 10 umbral zombies and 2 regular sorcerers. The description here does match in-game, and neither does in-game description match what is actually supposed to happen. This is bugged, only use for second socket.

Yepp, I think it got patched. Now seems to provide 30% Item discovery while in umbral and no vigor gain at all.
And I do not think that the vigor increase is just not in the tool tip. Because it does also not change the multipler.

the vigor increse in there just not displayed in the game tool tip.

Has anyone tested this at all? I noticed when I put it in first slot for more discovery upon a grievous strike it gives the paw icon at the top left next to all others buff icons prior to killing an enemy with a grievous strike. Also gives me a golden aura around my character, but goes away when putting it in the second slot. It seems to be the only way to get the golden aura around your character because I put the umbral eye in the second slot and it goes away. I do see the paw icon in umbral though. Anyways does anybody know which slot is more efficient for discovery gains?

I found It Yesterday (11/17/2023 or 17/11/2023 for not US), but secondary socket effect says only: "+30% Discovery rate while in umbra". Was it changed with a patch?

It is a quest reward for making Winterberry and Byron best friends. Extremely missable.
So far I do not notice any significant difference with this eye equipped in the primary slot, but I have a few guesses as to how it works... possibly more effective the stronger the enemy that is killed and... tiny increase that stacks over entire character save or until eye is changed... like .001 or something. I'd like to know how it works and the internet doesn't seem to know, so if anyone can share that info, I'm sure more people than myself will appreciate learning what that is.
