Deralium Chunk is an Upgrade Material in Lords of the Fallen (LotF) that can be used to upgrade Weapons, Shields and Catalysts from +9 to +10.
Bound by both iron and unnaturally prolonged lifespans, the miners of Sunless Skein toil endlessly. Like much of the cold rock within which they are entombed, their minds are long bereft of whatever value they once contained.
Where to find Deralium Chunk in Lords of the Fallen
Deralium Chunk can be found in the following places:
- In Update v.1.1.292, x2 can be found in Skyrest Bridge, near the Shrine of Orius, in the small alcove with hammocks, where heroes, like you, take their very well-deserved rest. This pickup is per character, so you can retrieve it for all your characters that meet the requirements.
- Revelation Depths: By following the path, you will eventually stumble upon stone structures or an enemy camp where the pathway is barricaded. The path split into two here, the other one leading further inside the caves and the other one leading to the stone structures. Head to the cave first as this is an optional area to explore. Inside there are miners working, clear them out so you can explore the area safely. Pick up the x3 Regular Deralium Nuggets near where the miners were located. What will pique your interest here is the x1 Deralium Chunk lying around the area. It is located not far from the Regular Deralium Nuggets you looted.
- Tower of Penance: After picking up the Map of the Tower of Penance, take the lift upwards, you'll be able to enter the tower through an upper archway. Right in front of you will be another Umbral Flowerbed. Past it, head through the doorway and onto some wooden platforms in the next room. Head to the end, then enter the Umbral. Soulflay the body across the way to lower a platform you can jump onto. Turn left and go down the ladder, then continue circling around and drop down to the lower platform. Stand on the small Umbral platform, then look to your left to find another one you can pull towards you. Jump onto it to continue to the next platform. Defeat the Ardent Penitent that bursts through the nearby wooden planks, then stand on top of the ladder, don't head down it. If you look over the ledge, you'll find a lower platform you can jump to that the ladder doesn't get to. Jump down to it to find a chest that contains a Deralium Chunk within the jail cell.
- Bramis Castle: From the Umbral Flowerbed outside the tower library, continue along the path to reach the exit to the King's bedroom. Head to the balcony on the right and warp into the Umbral to get across the platforms on the left and reach the giant crystal. Head down the crystal, when you reach the fork in the path, take the path on the left. Defeat the enemies in the area, go to the stairs on the right and break the wooden structure. Look down to see a small area with an item. Jump on it and pick up x1 Deralium Chunk.
- Fief of the Chill Curse: From the Vestige of Loash head through the archway leading to The Hollow Crow's Boss arena, after defeating it, head to the doorway and take the ladder down. Continue through the bridge until the next tower. Head up the tower to reach the beacon. Next to it is a chest, open it and pick up x1 Deralium Chunk, x2 Large Deralium Shards, x3 Regular Deralium Nuggets, x4 Small Deralium Fragment.
- One can also be bought at the coop-dedicated altar, next to Eustace, in Skyrest Bridge.

Please can you confirm that today, 16/02/2024, the deralium chunks are still farmable from Holy Bulwarks? Because most of the people on web said that they aren't farmable and that was a mistake from devs. Thanks in advance!
Also : The x2 deralium chunks on skyrest bridge i think that are not available anymore, because i have a boss weapon +10 and gerlinde full upgraded, but still there isn't the drop light on the hammock.

doesn't drop from bulwarks and this latest patch either removed or glitched out the 2 you're supposed to get in skyrest per character. i'm convinced nobody tested this garbage and i wish this game stayed dead and forgotten in 2014 as it should've from the beginning

Not a holy bulwark drop. Full item discovery + both rabbit feet for hours trying to get a drop it's not. I LVLed a bunch though.

Are the ones by the hammocks really per player? I received them for my first character, but there aren't showing up for my next one. Do I need to trigger something?
Yes you get it from Holy Bulwark.

Farmed bulwark guy near entrance to Tower of Penance two hours straight with item discovery 5 - not a single chunk. So i assume it's bullshit.

You can farm chunks from the knight near the fens pretty early game. From the Valade Vestage to through the door straight ahead then go Umbral and look left to find the ladder that takes you up to the next Lil platform then just follow path to the left n he's right behind the wooden breakable wall. A second one is further up the mountain after some archers n such.

Can't find the 2 chunks, 40 large shards, and 15 if the 3200 vigor skulls at the Fidelis hammock to the left of Orius' shrine?
Here's what to do: Put the game in online mode, buy a boss weapon, like Piets Sword. Upgrade it at least once and the chunks etc. is magically found on one of the hammock's. That worked for me :) Note: You might have to restart the game after buying the boss weapon.

I got 2 chunks, 40 large shards, and 15 if the 3200 vigor skulls at the Fidelis hammock to the left of Orius' shrine. I just opened the door to the Empyrean and completed Stomund's quest. His comrades are gone except for the dog. Is it related to the quest?

Hey HexWorks, I understand you wanted to nerf boss weapons in the early game with today's patch. However, making all boss weapons +10 instead of +5 and not giving us our chunks we wasted back was quite possibly the worst way you could have done it, and halving the cost of purchasing them with co-op coins to 150 "temporarily" feels less like a consolation and more like a cruel joke for playing and enjoying your game the month it came out. I and many other people can put up with performance issues, glitches, crashes, and more, but by ****ing over anyone who used a chunk on a cool weapon (or two, if you dual wield) you have royally pissed-off the vast majority of people in your dwindling community. We WANT to love this game, but hairbrained and ill-thought-out "solutions" like this instead of actual solutions and balancing are what make even hardcore fans drop the game and never come back. You only give us four chunks per playthrough, most of which are late game, and gate the others behind a massive amount of co-op coins. Now there are people who before had max gear and decided to go through NG+ who are dealing with tougher enemies and now their weapons hit like a wet noodle with no available large shards to buy from Gerlinde just to get to +9. This isn't even mentioning how there are TWO pairs of boss weapons that, when you dual wield them at the max upgrade level and complete a storyline, have unique "Ash of War" style attacks. Now, anyone who used their chunks can't use those attacks, and if they spent all their chunks IIRC because the storyline resets they won't have those special attacks again for a long time.
HexWorks, respectfully: don't give any excuses and just fix this now. Not later this week, not next week, NOW. This is the kind of decision/mistake that absolutely ruins the goodwill of your players, because now we know our progression and time spent in your game means absolutely nothing to you and you're fine with screwing over our savefiles in the name of making rushed changes to the early game. I just started an ng+0 run but my best friend is still on his regular first playthrough, and he spent ALL GAME trying to get that unique attack working on one of the dual weapon pairs. Now, I'm having to drop him a couple of my precious chunks just so that he can continue to play the game the way he did before while co-oping a victory lap on my file. This is stupid, this feels like a rushed decision, and there is zero excuse for it. Fix it.

In v.1.1.292. They described that chunks can be dropped from Holy Bulwarks after fully upgrading Gerlinde. Have someone got at least one?

it's funny seeing all the comments that aged like milk about the great chunk heist.
Not even a day later, we get free chunks and a ton of large stones. Doesn't make up for those who upgraded 3+ things to max; but it goes a long way to showing the community they are willing to at least bring a fix out about as fast as they can. Plus hey; if you're like me, you didn't have any boss weapon, and got 2 free chunks from just having a +10 standard weapon.

With the last path.. if you use one on a boss weapon to +5 upgrade.. now you lost it and need another to +10... Congratulations! :(

For people wondering why you'd need more than 4: a lot of folks like to dual-wield, plus many use magic so a catalyst factors in, and some like the possibility of having a back-up weapon or two. Others just like experimenting with different weapons.
But if you only want to do one or two weapons that's fine. Still, the shrine prices are kinda ridiculous and I ain't saving up that much for armor colors

Be wary: on PC, when upgrading there's a bug where the game tries to set your selection to wherever the mouse cursor was last nearby, if you're using controller. So you can end up accidentally upgrading something that was at +9 and lose a chunk.

The "Ladder" they're referring to in the Tower is actually called a "Lift" or an "Elevator".

Tower of Penance: What ladder are you talking about?? There's no ladder going upwards by the map location. The least you can do is elaborate a bit.

Tower library? Kings bed chamber? Wtf are you talking about? Where are these locations? Because I ran through that castle and didn't see anything close to a library or a room with a bed? Did you even play the game? I mean, you were wrong so many times in dark souls games as well.

What I did - I just test all weapons on challanged mobs, all weapons was +0 ...
it will help me to undestand which exaclty I wanna upgrade.

This game has a blatant, undeniable issue where it likes to take **** Fromsoft did without actually thinking about the specifics, and this is a pretty severe example. Not being able to upgrade every item fully in, say, Elden Ring, is annoying, but it's not a deal killer because it's ultimately going to be a fairly minor amount of damage. Here, it means you can't get access to all of your slots. The devs need to study the concept of independent thought.
