Ardent Penitent is an Enemy in Lords of the Fallen (LotF). Ardent Penitents are sentinels who wear a large head armor that is covered in spikes. The Ardent Penitent is one who doesn't shy in pain and sorrow and will use whatever it takes to kill anyone and anything that crosses their way. Lords of the Fallen features a variety of enemies that come from three groups, the Umbral Natives, Rhogar Enemies, and Hallowed Sentinels, each one having its own set of moves, strengths, and weaknesses that pose a threat and a challenge to the lamp bearer. By defeating an enemy, players can acquire various drops such as items and vigor.

LotF Ardent Penitent Enemy Notes & Tips
- Inflicts bleed with helmet attacks.
- One of his most dangerous attack is charge, that inflicts high damage. However, Penitent does not look were he runs, therefore player can bait him to run out of cliff and die due to fall.
- One encountered near Vestige of Blind Agatha is a great source of early-game vitality. Player simply needs to run past him and trigger his running attack. Then just roll right/left before attack and watch penitent fall to his doom.

If you're having trouble with the ones on the pilgrims perch walkways, remember when you soulflay you can hold a direction on your controller and send their spirit anywhere you want horizontally.

Annoying. Too much damage especially on his head against ground slam.

Stay fairly close to them. Dodging a helmet slam gives time for a charged heavy. Parry the punches. Practice on the one next to Vestige of Blind Agatha (great early game farm mob)

sometimes really annoying to fight, especially on narrow platforms/pathways etc. If you can manage to move in a wider space, I find a viable strategy to poke them with the bell staff with max charge heavy attacks. If the cheese maneuvres fail, heavy attacks stun them. 5-6 hits and they're gone.

Best use soulflayer or Lure near a Cliff and provoke a Charge. Otherwhise very painfull enemy.
