Ravenous Fascinator

ravenous fascinator enemy lords of the fallen wiki guide 300px
Realm Umbral
Enemy Group Umbral Native

Ravenous Fascinator is an Enemy in Lords of the Fallen (LotF). Ravenous Fascinators behave similarly to an angler fish, in the Axiom realm, they use their tongues to bait lamp bearers into picking up loot. They are completely invisible and require the Umbral Lamp to soulflay and make them retreat. These spawn systematically in different places. Lords of the Fallen features a variety of enemies that come from three groups, the Umbral Natives, Rhogar Enemies, and Hallowed Sentinels, each one having its own set of moves, strengths, and weaknesses that pose a threat and a challenge to the lamp bearer. By defeating an enemy, players can acquire various drops such as items and vigor.

Do not listen to anyone saying there’s only 1 per area. I ran into one, & then ran into another 45 seconds later and died.

Went my normal route & killed one in front of me. Feeling an ounce of safety, I went forward again just to get hit by another one.

Skill issue Fr but these things have to be the worst part of the game

For PS users. I have gotten 4 of the rune and its my first playthrough (NOT NG+). Here's how:

Go to one of the locations of the beast. Clear the area from the enemies then quit the game from the menu.

upload your file to your cloud (PS plus).

Now you can farm and keep downloading you save file if it didn't work.

Have to love that one of the few things that can improve the abysmally low item drop in this game itself has an abysmally low drop rate

Its cool they are something different than chests, problem is you can just oneshot them and their drop is absolute garbage, if I clear location without running into one I dont even bother looking for them since they are absolutely not worth it. Unlike for example dark souls mimics where they very often hold good items.

And there is also one in the Fief, here are all i have gound in my playthrough:

              1. Bellrom -> enter the door which is unlocked with the Pilgrim's Perch Key, head left into the room where the parasite is located.
              2. Hamlet -> near the Vestige in one of the ruins.
              3. Gorge -> upper part of the mine where all the dogs are located.
              4. Gorge -> in the area before the gate that leads to the second Lightreaper fight.
              5. Alehouse -> down the large ladder, head right and jump down.
              6. District -> somewhere near the catapult where you fight 2 fire pilgrims and one axe dude (there is also a parasite there).
              7. Memorial -> right where the bow enemy is.
              8. Fief -> after the large ice tunnel, head to Drustan and go down to the large ruins.
              9. Mines -> head back to the building that leads into the mines, somewere in the tower where the chest is located on top.
              10. Depths -> in the area right before the small tunnels you need to go through to lower the bridge shortcut.
              11. Leprosarium -> inside the kitchen.
              12. Leprosarium -> on a balcony of the very large building you can access via the kitchen.
              13. Leprosarium -> outside, in the area where you fight the face giant mutant umral thing enemy.
              14. Abbey -> on the large balcony where you fight a flail sister, inside the large building where you encounter the shield and spear boss.
              15. Abbey -> on the path right before the elevator to the Empyrean.
              16. Bramis Castle -> where you find the dead body of Drustan

Wiki says they spawn one in each area but I've at least two different occasions where there's been two of these ****s almost next to each other. very fun!

Annoying as hell monster to deal with but at least soulflaying them is a satisfying middle finger to these things. Just gotta get close enough since sometimes the soulflay will miss, at least it did for me with one in Lower Calrath.

The last patch (1.013 on console version) changed the charmed paw drop with a lucky paw... as if their drop rates weren't low enough :(

waaaayyy too many of these in the game. when you encounter a mimic or trapped chest in a fromsoft souls game, it genuinely catches you by surprise. in this game though? you can see like 5 mimics in the same god damn area. at what point are you just being a troll?

                      • Anonymous

Correct me if I'm wrong but this monster from Lords can be detected if you look at the ground and see no corpse or book. So if you only see the yellow shiny item, it is the Enemy. (Not 100% sure of this).

He's an improved mime. Because the mime you know when it's a mimic because the chain shows when it's a real chest or not (if the trunk's chain is pointing at you, it's a mimic, but if the chain isn't pointing at you, then it's not a mimic.) The conclusion we can draw from the mimic is that after you know this detail you can be in an area you don't even know and you will know if the trunk has a mimic or not, so it generates predictability. That's not what happens, until now, with this monster from the Lord of Fallen Here's the monster, until now, I haven't discovered a way to know that it's a trap if it's your first time visiting the area, so, for me, it's an improved and even scarier mimic

you can tell its one of these as the "tail" emitting upwards from the item will be wavy like its being blown by wind instead of straight
