Lords of the Fallen Full Manse of the Hallowed Brothers Walkthrough

Hallowed Sentinel Base

After taking the large elevator at Belled Rise in Pilgrim's Perch upwards, you'll find yourself at the Manse of the Hallowed Brothers. Hop off the elevator, then turn left at the corner ahead. Follow the cliffside and you'll eventually find the Vestige of Ferrers the Charred. Further down the path, looking over Mournstead, is The Iron Wayfarer. After speaking to him, jump down onto the lower cliffs. Defeat the two Avowed and the Marksman here. When defeated, the Marksman may drop Halsan.

Enter the Umbral and walk onto the wooden platform to the left at the end of the path. A bone pathway can be found further ahead. Be careful of being knocked off the path by the two Shrouded Sparrows waiting for you here. At the end of the wooden walkway, you'll find another Shrouded Sparrow and a Shrouded Remnant. Ascend the steps and you'll find an Emergence Effigy you can return to the Axiom with to the right.

Drop down into the tunnel ahead. Turn right to lift the gates by pulling the lever nearby, opening a shortcut to and from the Vestige. Turn around and go up the stairs at the other end. When you emerge back outside, defeat the Pureblade, and the Marksman on the upper ledge. Underneath the wooden staircase on the left, you can roll through the crates to find three Regular Deralium Nuggets. At the top of the staircase, you'll find a slope going upwards. You'll make it to that area later in the walkthrough. Instead, turn left and shine your Umbral Lamp at the gates ahead to move past them. Defeat the two Avowed and pick up the Seething Vigor Skull from the corner. If you head further into this area you'll eventually get to a dead end at a stone wall. Enter the Umbral and defeat the nearby Remnant, then you can soulflay the body ahead to weaken the Umbral Tumor off the ledge to your left. The item on the ledge is the Marksman Trousers. 

Jump down the ledge to get back on the main path and directly on your right will be the Map of the Manse of the Hallowed Brothers. Cross the bone bridge past the Umbral Tumor, then climb up the stairs to the top. A Bringer of Stillness and several Remnants will be waiting for you. When defeated, the Bringer of Stillness may drop a Regular Deralium Nugget, a Vestige Seed, and Dimexus. The Umbral Belly will drop the Cursed Set when soulflayed. There will also be an Emergence Effigy you can interact with to return to the Axiom.

Go up the ladder nearby then follow the walkway all the way to the end, using the Umbral Lamp when you get to a gap. You'll find three Smite Resistance Balms at the end. When you drop down, you'll find a large staircase going upwards on your left. This area is the place you would have reached is you continued up the slope past the gate we shined the Umbral Lamp at earlier. There'll be a Pureblade and three Thorned Penitents. After defeating them, pick up the Animated Vigor Skull from the right of the stairs.

Head up the stairs to reach a wine cellar. You'll find several Avowed and Marksmen, as well as a Crimson Rector in the building. Further in the cellar, you'll find a metal gateway behind some breakable wooden planks. Before heading through, look to your left to find a hole in the wall patched with some planks of wood. Shine your Umbral Lamp at it to be able to pass through. Go to up the stairs on your right and as you're about to pass by an archway on your right, an Avowed and a Marksman will come running at you. Opposite to the archway, there'll be two Bleed Cures on the shelf. Again, further ahead at the next archway to the right, another Avowed will be present. Make your way to the end of the pathway to grab three Animated Vigor Skulls off of the shelf.

Turn right at the corner and on the left, you'll find two Smite Cures. Turn right again at the next corner and defeat the avowed. Ignore the first set of stairs to the right and continue down the path until you reach the second set of stairs going up. Destroy the barrels on the left at the top of the stairs to loot five Unripe Berries. Head back down the stairs and go to the end of the pathway.

The way forward is up the stairs on the left, but for now, jump off the ledge here and turn right to go through the metal gateway we ignored earlier. Head through and destroy the wooden planks to the right to reveal a pathway going downwards. As you go through the next doorway, a Pilgrim will ambush you. Turn left into the next archway and defeat the next to Pilgrims. Destroy the wooden half wall blocking the way forward, then enter the Umbral to be able to bypass the flooding and head further downstairs. Destroy the Umbral Eggs in the area, then at the end, you'll be able to pick up the Lucent Sword Ring. Go back upstairs, through the archway you destroyed the wooden planks at to get down here, and at the top, there'll be an Emergence Effigy waiting for you to bring you back to the Axiom.

Head to the right, up some stairs, and you'll be back at the upper ledges leading to the staircase that lets you progress forward. Take the stairs, then turn right to find an Umbral Flowerbed. Continue forward, going up the wooden planks that lead you back outside. At the end of the porch, you'll find a locked door to your right that requires the Manse Kitchen Key. Descend the stairs onto the courtyard and defeat the Holy Bulwark patrolling the area. He'll drop the Manse Kitchen Key required to open the nearby door.

Before going through, on the right side of the courtyard, you'll find a doorway leading into another building. In the next room, you'll be able to activate the Vestige of Brother Jeremiah. Up on the platform behind the vestige, you can speak to Thehk-Ihir to browse his wares. Head back towards the entrance of the building and enter the archway on your right. On the table in the sick ward to your left, you can pick up a Heavenly Vial. Defeat the Marksman on the stairs and head upstairs. Through the doorway and up the next set of stairs, you'll find a doorway on the left and an open area straight ahead. You can't open the gate at the end of the doorway from this side, so instead defeat the two Avowed straight ahead and pick up Duty's Chime from the ledge.

Make your way back down the stairs and exit the building out onto the courtyard. You'll find a slope going upwards on the left side of the courtyard, but we'll get back to that area later. Now, use the Manse Kitchen Key to open up the locked door on the porch of the previous building.

 

Behind the Locked Door

Through the door requiring the Manse Kitchen Key, the item immediately to your right is a Ravenous Fascinator. Instead of picking it up, soulflay the creature. Defeat the Marksman and Avowed here, then go downstairs on the right to to pick up a Seething Vigor Skull on the corpse. If you look up, you'll find a hanging corpse that holds an item. If you knock the item down with a ranged attack, you can pick up a Large Manastone Cluster and three Ammunition Satchels.

Go up the two sets of stairs in the middle of the far end of the room, defeating the Marksman and enter the Umbral. You can souflay a body at the end of the wooden pathway to bring down a platform you can use to jump to the other side of the room. There, you'll find two Wither Salts. Destroy the barrel blocking the archway to open up a path out to a balcony. Soulflay the Stigmas here for two Umbral Scouring. On the left, you can destroy some wooden barrels to reveal a set of stairs. Take it up and defeat the Remnants and Womb of Despair. The Womb of Despair may drop Ruq. Afterwards, the Umbral Belly can be soulflayed for an Accusing Spirit.

Head back down the stairs and follow the balcony to the end. Use your Umbral Lamp to pull the platform to you and to cross the gap, then climb up the ladder on the other side. Turn right up on the roof, defeat the Shrouded Sparrows, then you can pick two Vestige Moths from the ground. Head up the opposite side of the roof to the ladder you used to get up here to find another set of wooden platforms. Through the doorway on the right, you'll find an Emergence Effigy that you can return to the Axiom using.

Jump down to the lower floor, and defeat the multiple Pilgrims, Penitents, and Receiver of Sacred Resonance. You can find a pair of double gates on the right side of the room that you can unlock from this side. This gate leads back to the earlier balcony. Another gate can be found in the corner at the far end of the room, and unlocking it leads you to an area found when you go up the slope on the left side of the courtyard you fought the enemy that drops the Manse Kitchen Key at. You can find three Bleed Salts on the ledge of the blood basin ahead in the middle of two Radiant Hounds, Penitents, and an Avowed. If you get unlucky with timing, a Pureblade, as well as two more Radiant Hounds may be aggroed while you're in the area.

When you're done looting, head back through the gate you unlocked and back in the building. Enter the Umbral and right in front of you, next to the archways on the right, you'll find an Umbral Belly you can soulflay for an Antediluvian Chisel. Turn right, through some arches to get into a hallway. On the left, you can return to the Axiom using the Emergence Effigy. There's a doorway down the right side of the hallway that leads into the main staircase of the building. Before heading up, go the opposite way on the left to find a doorway into an abandoned ward. On the table at the end, you can pick up an Enhanced Empyrean Grenade. Exit the room, being careful of the Pilgrims that hop down from the beds and head up the main staircase.

Defeat the three Pilgrims here, then you'll have two ways to go - to the left or the right. Start by heading up the stairs on the left. At the top, you'll find a Stigma you can soulflay in the Umbral for two Umbral Scouring. To it's left, there are a bundle of Twisted Bolts. Defeat the Avowed just up ahead, then enter the next room. Down the doorway at the bottom of the stairs in front of you, you'll get to a balcony where a Pureblade and a couple of Penitent are praying. On the statue they're praying at, you can pick up the Trinity Shield. Be careful of the other item in the vicinity as it's a Ravenous Fascinator. Soulflay it instead of picking it up. When you're done, head back up and turn right to find a large group of Penitent, Marksmen, and Avowed. On the altar past the doorway next to it, you can grab three Mirrors of Protection. Return to the Axiom using the Emergence Effigy at the end of the wooden planks nearby.

Head out into the previous room and take the ladder upwards to find a Penitent. This is where you would've ended up if you took the staircase to the right at the top of the main staircase. Destroy the crates here, then take the next set of stairs up. You'll find a hidden room in the Umbral you can enter. Inside, there'll be a Heavenly Vial, an Umbral Flowerbed, and a Stigma you can soulflay in the Umbral for two Umbral Scouring.

While in the Umbral, look to the left of the Stigma to find another hole in the wall. Heading through it will allow you to navigate the wooden beams above the building's floors. Carefully make your way to the final wooden beam to grab the Inner Serpent Pendant. Head back and exit out the room to the right of the Stigma. Look to your right to find a narrow hallway. Defeat the Avowed and Marksman, then exit the building through the archway on the far end of the hallway. Another Umbral Flowerbed can be found out here, and when you step onto the bridge ahead, a Holy Bulwark will come out the archway on the other side. After defeating him, hop down to the lower platform at the broken piece of railing. Defeat the Crimson Rector, then turn around and climb some stairs to unlock a gate that leads back to the bridge you jumped off. Head back down the stairs and continue forward to find two Avowed in a sheltered area. In the middle of this shelter area, you'll can pick up two Fire Salts, three Burn Salts, and three Ignite Salts from the ground. Opposite to it is a pair of double gates you can unlock to get back to a previous section of the Manse. If you head further down, you can shine your Umbral Lamp at the lattice to find the balcony where you previously found the Trinity Shield. To progress forward, head back up the stairs, through the shortcut gate and return to the bridge. Enter the archway on the other side, where the Holy Bulwark came from.

Turn left, through the next archway. Hop onto the wooden planks to get onto the stone walkway surrounding the building. You'll find an Avowed, Marksman, and a Radiant Hound. Continue down the walkway to get to a well area with a Crimson Rector and a Marksman. The gate on the right doesn't open from this side, so go up the stairs ahead and go over to the gates at the end. Before opening the gates, shine your Umbral Lamp at the broken railing to find a pathway down. Follow it to the end and enter the Umbral to soulflay a Stigma that grants you two Umbral Scouring. An Umbral Flowerbed can also be found nearby.

Make your way back up the slope and to the broken railing. Open the gates on the left to progress forward. In this dark hallway, a Sin-Piercer and her two Radiant Hounds can be found patrolling the area. The small balcony found on the left, about halfway through the hallway has a bundle of Radiant Arrows on it. At the end of the hallway, you can open the gates to get back outside. Defeat the Penitent and two Radiant Hounds out here, then turn left to go down the first set of steps. You'll see a stone walkway on your right. Head down to the lower well area first and head through the arches on the right. Destroy the Umbral Parasite next to the tree and defeat the two Pureblades, Remnants, and Mendacious Visage that are in the area. 

On the stone walkway earlier and down the stairs from the well, you'll find locked doors that requires Abbot Vernoff's Key. We'll head back here once we've gotten the key, but for now, make it back to the courtyard with the tree. The item directly next to it is a Ravenous Fascinator, so don't pick it up but instead soulflay it. To the left of the tree, you'll find a staircase going up. Instead of going up, destroy the wooden cart next to it and shine your Umbral Lamp at the archway it was blocking to head through. Down the stairs, you'll find an Umbral Flowerbed and a lever to call the nearby lift up to access a new side area downstairs. When you arrive at the bottom, you'll find a Holy Bulwark patrolling the area. Defeat it, then open the gate at the corner. The item at the bottom of the stairs past it is the Damaged Standard. This is one of two items Stomund asks you to retrieve for him later at the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters. Head back up the stairs, then turn right to find another shortcut gate you can unlock. 

When you're done in the basement area, make your way back up the elevator. Exit the room and head up the stairs. Before turning right towards a chest in the distance, head through the doorway at the top, where you'll find another Umbral Flowerbed on the left. It is recommended to plant a Vestige Seed here as you'll be fighting some bosses nearby.

 

Boss: Abiding Defenders

Make your way back out the door, and cross the bridge ahead to fight the Abiding Defenders. This is a duo boss fight against Abiding Defender Lirenne and Abiding Defender Kyra. They must be defeated at roughly the same time or they will revive each other. The two bosses have the same movesets consisting of fairly simple sword swings, some of which have projectiles. Just keep an eye out for when they raise their swords asthis indicates that their about to leap at you.

When defeated, they will drop either the Ebonlight Abiding Defender Sword and/or a piece of the Abiding Defender Set, as well as a Vestige Seed and Divine Arms. You can then loot the chest in their boss arena for the Flail of Wisdom. Return across the bridge and through the doorway ahead.

There'll be two ways forward here - one to the left and another to the right. Start by going to the right. Inside this small room, you'll find an Animated Vigor Skull. Opposite the item, destroy the wooden barricades and barrels blocking an archway. Waiting for you at the corner is an Avowed. After defeating it, open the gates at the other end to pick up the Ring of Shelter.

Head back out the main room and into the other one at the end of the hallway. Defeat the lone Avowed and knock the ladder down to create a shortcut back up here. Enter the Umbral and a platform will appear. Climb the ladder on the Umbral platform upwards to be able to reach the upper floor. Exit the doorway here to the upper balcony and defeat the Bringer of Stillness and several Shrouded Remnants and Remnants around it. After dealing with them, take the curving staircase ahead upwards. Cross the wooden platforms, then take the wooden staircase up. Destroy the wooden crates and barrels blocking your way and continue following this wooden platform inside the nearby tower. You can loot an Enhanced Umbral Burrower by soulflaying the Umbral Belly here. Be careful of getting knocked down by the Remnants in the area.

Look down to find a lower platform with an item on it. If you try to fall down there directly, you'll likely die from the fall. Instead, hop down onto the lower cross-like structure above it to safely make your way down there. The item will be an Ammunition Satchel and two Manastone Clusters. Carefully follow the wooden beams here to the end, then you can drop down to a balcony with an Emergence Effigy, allowing you to return to the Axiom. You can also pick up three Regular Deralium Nuggets from the ground nearby. Open the gate nearby to open a shortcut back to the room where you entered the Umbral to reveal a ladder. Afterwards, defeat the Avowed on the balcony. Climb the ladder at the end upwards and re-enter the building through the archway at the top. At the end of the wooden platform are two Large Deralium Shards.

Head back outside and shine your Umbral Lamp off the balcony to the left. You can follow the path that appears upwards to a doorway on the upper floor. Enter the Umbral to find an Umbral Belly on the other side of the thin wooden beam. Soulflaying this belly will net you an Enhanced Cursed Dart.

 

Shortcut Galore

Return down to the room with an Emergence Effigy and go back to the Axiom. In this room, jump down through the broken part in the railing and open the gates behind you to open a shortcut. Ahead will be a few Avowed and Radiant Hounds, as well as a Crimson Rector. After defeating them, go through the archway on the right. Behind some piled up wooden crates on the right is a Briostone Trio. On the left, you'll be able to open a gate that leads back into the courtyard with the doors requiring a key.

Go back into the main building, and up the stairs in the middle leading to an altar. Several Penitent can be found here, as well as the Abbot Vernoff's Key on the altar itself. Head down the stairs and through the archway on the right as you go down. You can also open a gateway here for yet another shortcut. You can shine your Umbral Lamp at the other gate next to it to head into the room for two Large Deralium Shards. Be careful of the Remnant standing right in front of the gate. Head up the stairs and destroy the wooden barricades blocking your way into the next room, Waiting for you will be a Holy Bulwark. In the next room, stepping on the flimsy looking wooden planks will cause you to fall through into a room downstairs. Instead, skirt around the edges and go through the archway leading back outside. Three Ammunition Satchels and two Large Manastone Clusters can be found on this small balcony. Destroy the small wooden crates to reveal a wooden platform going up. Jumping on to it and following it up leads you back to the room with the Emergence Effigy. 

 

To the Abbey or the Tower

Instead, head back downstairs and through the gates leading out onto the courtyard with the multiple locked doors. Start by heading towards the small single door on the elevated stone walkway just underneath the Abiding Defenders boss arena. Down the stairs inside, you'll find some Penitent praying at a statue. If you enter the Umbral here, you'll be able to find an Umbral Belly that drops a Saintly Quintessence in the middle of the prayer area. Two Bringers of Stillness will appear here, so be careful. Open the doors down the next stairs after you're done and pick up the Forceburst Parchment ahead. Through the archway on the left, you can soulflay a Stigma that nets you two Umbral Scouring.

Through the archway on the right instead, you'll find an Umbral Flowerbed. Hop down from the ledge and look to the right to find a hidden room. After defeating the Remnant and Womb of Despair, you can pick up three Poison Resistance Balms and two Poison Cure. Return to the Axiom using the Emergence Effigy here. Shine your Umbral Lamp at the wall to get out of the small room, then follow the walkway out onto the courtyard. Defeat the Holy Bulwark and Penitent in the area, then pick up three Holy Ward from the left side. If you follow the walkway here, past the Pureblade, you can unlock the door at the end using Abbot Vernoff's Key that leads back to a previous area.

There are two ways to go now, through an open pathway leading onto a bridge at the Tower of Penance, or through some closed metal gates on the left side of the courtyard leading into the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters. Your first course of action will be to visit the Tower of Penance to cleanse the Hallowed Sentinel beacon there. As soon as you step onto the bridge leading into the Tower of Penance, you'll initiate a boss fight, so prepare yourself before continuing forward. After you're done at the tower, return to this courtyard and unlock the metal gates on the left side, where you'll find another Umbral Flowerbed just to your left. Up ahead is Stomund, Captain of the Fidelis, who will give you some context about the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters further in.
