Effect Frostbite Burst, Stamina/Posture Damage
Mitigated by Frostbite Resistance Balm
Cured by Frostbite Cure

Frostbite is a Status Effect in Lords of the Fallen (LOTF). Frostbite is one of Lords of the Fallen status effects, when applied to an enemy will deal a burst of Frostbite damage when the bar is filled. On enemies, it will decrease their posture meter, on players it will halve the stamina bar. Status Effects are various buffs or ailments that apply either a beneficial or detrimental effect to the target. Status Effects can be applied on both enemies and players alike. Status Effects are triggered after a buildup meter is filled by repeated application of attacks that cause the effect. Both players and enemies can have varying resistances to a given Status Effect.

Frostbite Effects LOTF

  • Frostbite when applied to an enemy will deal a burst of Frostbite damage when the bar is filled. On enemies, it will decrease their posture meter but on players it will halve the stamina bar.
  • Every two points spent in any Stat, increases all Status Effects Resistances by a point, including Frostbite. An increased resistance to Frostbite slows the build up of the Status effect bar when suffering frostbite-inflicting damage.
  • Players can remove the effect of Frostbite by using a Frostbite Cure
  • Players can inflict Frostbite by using Frostbite Salts.

I think frostbite status effect is bugged. If you take two Jeffrey daggers with 3 frostbite runes, you will proc frostbite and then enemy will be immune to frostbite for like 10 seconds. The enemy will have a blue aura. Perhaps it is suppose to work like bleed status effect where you deal increased wither damage for x hits. Umbral weapon also looks bugged because it is only weapon enchantment to not apply any status effect. Radiant weapon applies smite, Inferno applies burn, Laceration weapon applies bleed, Poison applies poison but Umbral does not apply frostbite.

I think frostbite is bugged. If you run two jeffrey dagger with 3 frostbite runes, you proc frostbite but enemy becomes immune to frostbite proc with blue aura for like 10 seconds. perhaps this status effect is suppose to work like bleed status effect where you do increased damage withered damage for 5 hits but due to the bug. it just makes enemies immune to frostbite application making entire status effect pointless. Umbral weapon might also be bugged because it doesn't apply any frostbite application despite every other weapon enchantment applying a status effect. Radiant weapon applies smite, Laceration applies bleed, Infernal weapon applies burn. Poison weapon applies poison but Umbral weapon applies nothing.

dealing extra dmg against frostbitten explains my experience with the giant face enemies. normally their projectiles and maggot summons only apply wither health, but once you are frostbitten every subsequent projectile and maggot you run into starts popping your white health on top of applying more.

          • Seems that it gives a small damage increase for the next few hits after proc. maybe 2ish percent. The damage increase also may stack for 3-5 hits. need further testing

Frostbite is good against certain tough enemies. It will take a chunk off their posture. Also with Yorke’s Ring, the damage boost that Frostbite gains is good. Also, Frostbite can be further boosted with generic damage increases such as Princess Sting. Also, Runes in weapons will also apply to your ranged weapons if possible. But I have yet to test Mhorem to see if it will work with Catalysts and Bows.

Testing on various mobs this seems quite bad. You will usually kill enemies before it procs as needs good few hits. Might be good on bosses tho.
