LOTF Wilmarc's Catalyst Notes & Tips
- Hidden Lore: Wilmarc had never been particularly religious, his studies and desired mastery of Radiant sorcery instead stemming from more practical and self-serving impulses. (Requires Radiance to unlock)
- Equipping a Catalyst will forego the possibility to use a Throwable Item or a Ranged Weapon
- Spells can be equipped in the quick action bar to be cast, each school requires a different Catalyst to be used.

To the developers.. and anyone reading this please give me a like... It would be nice if there was a way to switch from catalyst to throwables without having to open the menu and then click through the options to pick the hand or the catalyst... There's a lot of times that you want to switch between throwables and spells but you have to literally open up the menu and scroll through if there was some way to quick switch this would be a big big big quality of life help

This is attractive to me, simply for the extra slot. I usually use the Agonies Light,, as it's the superior, early game Catalyst (especially for a Paladin style character, that uses melee, and spells) Being able to slot an extra spell, is sometimes very useful though. I keep this as a utility back up, so I can slot an extra spell if I want to.
Early upgrade materials are plentiful, so no issues getting to +5. The Agonies Light is better for Damage output though, as far as early game catalysts go. I assume there will be better, later in the game though.
Also acquiring the Agonies Light is easy, as you can use Soulflay to just dump the Bucketheads off the side of the narrow, walkways. The droprate is the best,, but just pop a rabbits foot and farm that one next to the bell-vestige.
I've only gotten 2 x of them from these guys, but I wasn't actually farming for it. Didn't know about the catalyst until I noticed it in my inventory (LoL, was using the basic one, and I had 2 x of these just sitting there)

A solid catalyst that's gonna carry you to the very end-game
wouldn't waste a chunk on it but its definitely worthy of upgrading to +9

With 62 Radiance, at +6 this still does not out perform Agony's Light at +6.
Agony's Light at +6 with 62 Radiance: 268 + 106 = 374 spell power
Wilmarc's Catalyst at +6 with 62 Radiance: 178 + 184 = 362 spell power
It is only 12 points difference for an extra spell slot. But I don't find myself ever needing more than 3 spells at once in this game. If you want more then I guess it would be worth it for only 12 point loss.
I don't think this will surpass Agony's Light until +8 or +9. Due to how much raw spell power that gets per level. The scaling just doesn't really catch up even with high Radiance. I think its going to take an A scale to match or pass it. Which by the time you do that, you can get one of the later game ones anyways which have better scaling and another spell slot to boot (5 total). So upgrading this one seems some what pointless unless you are pure caster and not using a melee weapon to compliment.

You might ask yourself, "Why would I use this over the Orian Preacher Catalyst I already have?"
It allows you to equip 4 spells instead of just 3.
Very cool item, if only the asinine npc in front of it would move out of the way and let me pick it up. You need to move to skyrest bridge, AND ****ing reload the game, else each time you go to the grotto, she'll just block the way. If only they let me roll and pulverize her like before, that would nake things easier.
