AnonymousI missed it on my first playthrough, and basically could not use runes. It is not in a super obvious place either, i think there should be a safestate for this kind of stuff, like maybe a boss later on drops it if you haven't picked it up already.
Especially since the other tablets are useless until you get the first one

@Fextra just handing over the cracked rune tablet does _not_ cause the blacksmith to sell small delarium. I've given her the tablet, and she's selling me runes, but she is not selling me _any_ form of delarium, small, regular, or otherwise. There's something else you do that prompts her to start selling delarium, and it may not even be connected to the tablet at all.
