Lords of the Fallen Andreas of Ebb Full Questline Walkthrough

The Man Who Seeks the Lamp

After meeting the NPCs inside the Hub, proceed to the tall archway that will lead you to a balcony with a beautiful view of the landscape. You will find Andreas of Ebb standing near the edge of the cliff, looking over the vast land before him. He stands tall and dons a black outfit with silver-plated chest armor. As soon as you approach him, the first thing he notices is the lamp that you're carrying, as well as the responsibilities that come with it.

Keep talking to Andreas of Ebb and exhaust his dialogues. He will tell you about his ancestor, known as the great ruler Antanas, the very same man who defied Adyr and Rhogar and saved the whole world. This honorable man that he speaks about, apparently died to a common criminal after he was betrayed. The true goal of Andreas of Ebb is that he seeks to take the lamp from you. He tries to tell you that the Lampbearer is an unfortunate victim who is shackled to such a grim fate and wishes to take that burden from you.

Andreas of Ebb claims that a man of his pedigree can't simply stand idle while a man is suffering. He pretends that he's trying to help you and reiterates once again to hand over the lamp to him. However, you can't do anything about his offer, for now.

Once you reach Forsaken Fen and defeat The Congregator of Flesh, this will lead Andreas of Ebb to further solidify his belief that what you hold is the genuine Umbral Lamp. You will find that he has moved to the interior of the Skyrest Bridge near the Vestige of Ethryg. Once you approach him, he will urge you to venture into Fief of the Chill Curse and he will hand you the Fief Key and the Map of the Fief of the Chill Curse. He will say that the world is conflicted more than ever, and what they need is a man to unite them before they tear each other apart like dogs.

NOTE: If you happen to miss the interaction above, Andreas of Ebb will leave Skyrest Bridge and he will leave the Fief Key and Map in the same location.

Your next interaction with Andreas of Ebb will happen in the same place inside Skyrest Bridge, this event will be triggered after defeating the Spurned Progeny. He will leave Andreas of Ebb's Elegantly Penned Note in the same place where you last saw him. He leaves you a note saying that he has left to venture into the Fief of Chill Curse. He even gives you advice to not cower in fear like the ones worthy of lesser merit.

Andreas of Ebb still pretends to be a friend of yours during all of this, but unknowing to the Deathless one, he has prepared a trap for them at the Fief of Chill Curse. As you explore the icy tunnel, you will first fight a monster wielding an axe that can shoot Ice Arcs in front of them. After that, a voice can be heard grunting with effort to drop a trap on top of you. If the radius of this trap hits you, you will die. Past this trap, you can pick up 1x Halting Gesture.

After the incident at Fief of Chill Curse, you will find Andreas of Ebb once again in Skyrest Bridge, but he will move to one of the alcoves in the main hall to the Crypt area, right in front of the Vestige of Ethryg. He will tell you about the item he lost during a scuffle (Andreas of Ebb's Book of Lineage). This item can be obtained by interacting with a Stigma found on the Upper part of the Skyrest Bridge, in a tower behind a door accessible by the shortcut from Upper Calrath.

If you give the book back to Andreas of Ebb, he will offer to assist you. He boasts of his skills as a fine swordsman and how it is a privilege to have a man of his pedigree by your side. Otherwise, you will find him at Upper Calrath Plaza where he offers to assist again but will go back on his word. As soon as you exit the arena after defeating the Lightreaper with him, he will attack you for the lamp that you're carrying.

LOTF Andreas of Ebb Notes & Trivia

  • Andreas is a descendant of Antanas from Lords of the Fallen (2014) who served as the game's main antagonist.
  • The Book of Lineage which he is looking for is similarly an object from Lords of the Fallen (2014).
  • If you don't get the Fief Key from Andreas of Ebb before he leaves Skyrest Bridge, he will leave the key and map on the side of the Vestige of Ethryg.
  • This quest can be completed even after the final boss. You can also miss his Elegantly Penned Note, this won't fail the quest.
  • Summoning Andreas of Ebb as a companion during the fight against the Lightreaper is optional. This will not fail the quest and he will still attack you at the exit alley.
  • If you choose to not give him the book when interacting with him, it will cause him to get mad and lock the quest.

Everyone who missed the quest make sure you talk to him until hes repeating his lines same thing with every other npc finish their dialogue or the npc wont move or they disappear or die

You may want to add that this npc does a patches if you followed his questline and he is standing before the final lightreaper encounter then he will join the battlefield and he spawns next to u a few seconds after entering then he will use some kind of ninja smoke bomb and disappear but if you die or reset the encounter he will not spawn again

I believe you have to be in Axiom to trigger the trap. I ran through the tunnel in Umbral and it didnt go off but then I went back and rested at my seedling to restore my Sanguinarix and it popped again. Not positive whether it was because I was in Axiom or because I reset the area for sure, but I think you have to be in Axiom so the lamp can revive you in Umbral. I have this theory that Ebb just wanted to see the lamp revive you upon death.

he is such a pompous peice of worthless trash. I honestly hoped he would turn on me. I was waiting on it from the very beginning. ohh did it feel so satisfying to drive my radiant spear into his retched face. ROT...VERMIN. just like the rest of your lineage

If you choose to "do nothing" when you have to return his book he doesn't drop his ring when you kill him

              • Anonymous

I can't tell if this is totally related to Andreas' questline, but I progressed it until the trap in the Fief, never spoke to him about his book, and instead summoned Isaac for the final Lightreaper fight. I went back to the Sleeping Quarters at Skyrest after reading this guide and nobody was there, but someone left an item pickup containing 2 Deralium Chunks, 40 Large Deralium Shards, and I think 15 Replete Vigor Skulls.

This was also after killing Damarose and Gerlinde for the Umbral ending, as well as finishing Dunmire's quest in Mother's Lull and the mines.

                • Yup, had his questline all done up to Lightreaper, but forgot to talk to him prior. He did not show up and bail out of the fight, and will not spawn in his boss location. Bummer.

You don't have to summon him to the Lightreaper bossfight to get him as a boss afterwards. Just need to progress his questline.

Yeah he’s kind of a douche, but who among us hasn’t killed other characters just for their unique items?

                      • Anonymous

So the light boss never shows up for me. It's just the ravager and his Dogs despite talking to EBB right at the entrance.

YOU CAN FINISH THIS QUESTLINE EVEN AFTER BEATING THE GAME IF YOU BACKTRACK TO FIEF AND TRIGGER THE TRAP.
Beat the final boss and was ready for ng+, decided to just run through the areas again to pick up anything I may have missed and while running through the icy cave in the Fief, the trap triggered and I was able to finish the questline from there. (The trap didn't trigger the first time I ran through the ice cave for an unknown reason, even though he had left skyrest)

I didn't get most of what was in this guide. I got the key from him, but he randomly dissapeared from my game after that. Nowhere to be found, never to be seen again. Not sure if it's because I beat Lightreaper on his 2nd appearance at the Gorge.

I didn't have to fight this guy, he is definitely optional dependant on either his questline or whether or not you summon him for lightreaper. I'm pretty sure I saw his summon ashes before lightreaper but that fight only took me 2 attempts. Stuck up prick tho I wish I could have killed him.

Choosing not to give him the book when talking to him causes him to get mad and lock the quest... Literally the only NPC that does this, and all I wanted to do was read the item description...

Another obscure and horrible questline. Why would I return to Skyrest Bridge and look for Andreas outside of his default locations?!

I went through the whole Fief and defeated Lightreaper without ever meeting Andreas again.
