Free the Tortured Prisoner in the Skyrest Bridge

As you explore the crypt inside the Skyrest Bridge, you will find the Tortured Prisoner locked inside one of the cells. There isn't much dialogue here because she appears unable to speak, and there's a contraption wrapped over their head. To free the Tortured Prisoner, you will need to solve a puzzle in the Umbral Realm, which also involves destroying Umbral tumors. To get inside the crypt, you will first need the Skyrest Bridge key. Please refer to the Locations: Skyrest Bridge page for a more detailed guide on how to reach the crypt and where to get the Skyrest Bridge Key to unlock the doors.

How to Solve the Skyrest Bridge Puzzle in Lords of the Fallen

To free the Tortured Prisoner in Lords of the Fallen, you need to cross over to the Umbral Realm. From the Tortured Prisoner's cell, use the spiral stairs until you reach the ground level where you see the suspended bridge and tombs. As soon as you exit the archway, cross over the Umbral Realm if you haven't, then look at the top right of the wall where you just came from. You will see the first Umbral tumor here, then destroy it by soulflaying.

If you follow the movement of the light, you will see that it will go to an entity on the left section of the wall. Ignore this for now, and keep looking for the other 2 Umbral tumors. The second umbral tumor is located at the left wall beneath the bridge. As you destroy the second tumor, a stone platform will move toward you. Jump down on the platform then look behind you to find the third tumor. Destroy it, then use the tumor on the other end to get out of the floating platform using the ladder. Climb up to the right side of the wall where the light was seen traveling. Destroy it once again and pick up the x1 Searing Accusation.

Bring the item back to the Tortured Prisoner where you found her. She will respond to you in the same manner of muffled sounds. After that, return to the Main Hall of the Skyrest Bridge and rest in the nearest Vestige. Go back to the Tortured Prisoner's cell and you will find that it was already unlocked and you can pick up x1 Tortured Prisoner's Head Cage

After freeing the Tortured Prisoner, they now become available as a co-op summon during boss fights as well as a Merchant that you can interact with where you fought Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal (top of Skyrest Bridge).

The Tortured Prisoner Becomes a Merchant outside the Hub at Skyrest Bridge

After freeing the Tortured Prisoner from her locked cell, you will find her at the top of the Skyrest Bridge, outside the Hub. This location is near the arena where you fought Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal, and also near the fallen giant. When you approach her here, she greets you as the "deathless one." She speaks as if you were behind bars and not her, and tells you that she was glad that you were able to free yourself. It appears that the Tortured Prisoner has lost her mind, after all the time she endured in the cell.

As you exhaust her dialogues, she will reward you with a x1 Calrath Noble's Bow Gesture, and the last thing she tells you before you can check her items for sale, she will ask you to inform her of the whereabouts of her family. She specializes in infernal spells so make sure to exhaust her dialogues to view her Merchant inventory.

Tortured Prisoner and a Noblewoman

To progress the quest of the Tortured Prisoner, you need to give her the Giant Eyeball that is acquired after defeating the Spurned Progeny. Bring back this item to the Tortured Prisoner outside the arena where you fought Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal towards the end of Abandoned Redcopse. After this encounter, this will prompt the Tortured Prisoner to move to the arena where you fought the Spurned Progeny. To continue, you will need to retrieve the Noblewoman Set in the marketplace at Upper Calrath. Equip the full set and return to the Tortured Prisoner at the arena of the Spurned Progeny. After doing so, she will move to the Upper Calrath near the beacon behind a metal fence. She will now sell new merchandise so make sure to exhaust her dialogues. Find her in her new location and she will give you x1 Elegant Perfume as a reward. Keep this item as this will prove valuable later on.

As you progress the story of the game, when you are able to reach the area before you open the gates to Bramis Castle, look for the Charred Letter on the side of the stairs where there's a small fire burning that leads from the lower ward to the upper esplanade where the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim is. If you have this Vestige unlocked, simply walk back down the stairs and locate the burning plants on the side of the stairs. Then, take the item back to the Tortured Prisoner in her previous location next to the Beacon in Upper Calrath. You can locate her behind the same gated metal fence near the  Vestige of the Forgotten Guardian in Upper Calrath.

After giving her the Charred Letter, the Tortured Prisoner will move to the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim in Bramis Castle. Make sure to buy everything that you will need from her because, after this area, she will become unavailable as a Merchant. Your next goal is to bring the Swaddling Cloth that is found in the King's Bedroom.

bramis castle 24 lords of the fallen wiki guide min

NOTE: Fighting The Sundered Monarch before bringing the Swaddling Cloth to the Tortured Prisoner will cause her to become hostile and fail the quest. You will then find her in the King's bedroom, out on the terrace, where you fight two Ravagers, and becomes a secondary Boss. This path is the normal way leading to the bedroom (not the shortcut bookshelf door).

To retrieve the Swaddling Cloth, you will need to gain access to the King's bedroom within Bramis Castle. First, you need the Royal Key to open the doors to the inner area. Once you have it, you will find yourself in a room full of pieces of furniture that used to serve as a study room. You will know that you are in the right section if there is a huge statue in the middle of the area.

Follow the circular path here and you will eventually stumble upon a treasure chest. Head to the upper area by taking the stairs and follow the circular path once again. At the end of the path, proceed by accessing the set of stone staircases leading to the outer ramparts of the castle. Another marker to know that you are in the right place is if you are seeing the supporting pillars in the area. Plant a Vestige Seed on the Umbral Flowerbed here for you to have a checkpoint.

bramis castle 34 lords of the fallen wiki guide min

Follow the straightforward pathway and past the wooden platform that will break when you step on it where two Ruiners are guarding the area. This is going to be a tough fight so be patient while dealing with these two. After dealing with the Ruiners, head to the nearest entrance at the back of the enemy you see on the image above, and it will lead you to the King's Bedroom. Retrieve the x1 Swaddling Cloth placed on the baby's cradle. Then, take it back to the Tortured Prisoner in the same previous location as before next to the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgirm.

The final step to this quest is to head into the Throne Room and defeat The Sundered Monarch. Make use of the Elegant Perfume that can cause him to be stunned briefly (not required for the quest). After emerging victorious from the fight against the Sundered Monarch, look for the Tortured Prisoner at the top of the stairs in the Throne Room. She will reveal to you that her real identity is Queen Sophesia of Mournstead, and she was imprisoned in the crypt of Skyrest Bridge. Her last act is to give you Queen Sophesia's Ring, just before she falls into an eternal sleep.

This interaction will complete the Free the Tortured Prisoner quest and will give the trophy: A Queen's Rest. Now that the Tortured Prisoner has taken her final breath, visit her previous location near the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim in Bramis Castle to retrieve Queen Sophesia's Catalyst and her dress.

У меня вообще игра зависла, после последнего обновления, на падшем монархе, любые изменения в настройках не сохраняются,. I did everything but be talk to her outside of bramis and she won't be appear to get the swaddled cloth. Checked the area she should be if I failed and no dice either. Not sure what happened.

          • Anonymous

After speaking to her in the Spurned Progeny arena wearing the Noblewoman set, she DID NOT move to the beacon in Upper Calrath. I just checked and this is false.

            • I never went to Beacon area in Upper Calrath where she was supposed to be, I went through Bramis Castle and the King's Room, nobody was there, and killed the Sundered Monarch + Adyr. And then went to the Upper Calrath beacon area and the King's Room, and she is nowhere to be found anymore.

In nearly the last step where you are to bring the swaddling cloth to the prisoner, you can have fought the Sundered Monarch but can't have defeated him. It is only once you have defeated him that she moves from where she was near the beacon in Upper Calrath.

I finished her quest in the final area and only rewards you with queen's ring , after she just disappear . So... where the hell do you get her catalyst exactly? Because I rested in vestige and came back, yet nothing was there...

well she just dissapeared in my world. I frogot to give her the eye and continued into the sunless skein until Byron

Freed her then killed the king and she's not there as a boss. Theres a certain point in her quest that needs to be met in order to fight her for the trophy. That needs to be mentioned.

                        • Anonymous

So this b** just disapeared from the center of Spurned Progeny arena after beating a king. She is not at beacon, not at red castle teleport station, not at terrace, just gone. Didnt talk to her in noble skirt etc. Is it fail? Is it bug? Wanna meet her as hostile

                          • Anonymous

This is just frustrating. I went through the process of beating Spurned Progeny on an inferno build just to give her the eyebal, but I didn't have enough vigor to buy seismic slam or the rhogar pendant so I left to farm up vigor, came back and she just wasn't there. Those would've been massive upgrades for me at this point but they're gone for now until I find her again. I really, really dislike having so many merchants that move all over the place without warning.

I did not spoke to her again after optaining her cataclyst. So after returning she just stole my 7+ catalyst and i had to buy the ****ing starting one again ... anyone knows if she hands me back the upgraded one later?

                              • Anonymous

I failed the last step of her quest and she become hostile. She is a required boss fight for the "none shall be spared" achievement. You can fail her quest by not giving the Swaddling Cloth to her (last step of the quest) and then kill the Sundered Monarch boss fight. After you failed the quest she will relocate to outside of the kings and queens bedroom on the terrace, which leads to the bed room going the normal way (not the shortcut book door).

Someone edited this wikipage and removed the fact she becomes hostile with "she will disappear from your game", which is incorrect.

If you free the prisoner by giving them the Searing Accusation AFTER killing the Spurned Progeny, they will still move to outside Pieta's boss arena but will have incomprehensible dialogue and you will not be able to give them the Giant Eyeball. I tried reloading the area multiple times but no dice. Someone else commented that the same thing happened to them but without fighting Spurned Progeny, so maybe it's just a bugged NPC, but I'd still be sure to free her before doing Spurned Progeny just in case.

                                  • She moved into the Arena of Spurned Progeny after giving her the Giant's Eyeball, but without wearing the Noblewoman set. Talking to her while wearing it unlocked new items for me. She also appeared standing behind some bars just before the Abbey beacon with some new dialog.

NOTE: Fighting The Sundered Monarch before bringing the Swaddling Cloth to the Tortured Prisoner will cause her to become hostile and fail the quest.

any news on how does she become hostile? i tried picking up swadling cloth and went straight to sundered monarch but after i kill it shes gone? and then i tried another aproach by atacking the him again but this time o let him kill me then go back to her but she didnt bcome hostile and when i press talk all i can see is giv her the cloth or do nothing option. ty in advance

after defeating Spurned Progeny, you give her the eyes in skyrest, then she'll move to the arena where you defeated progeny and there you have to bringer the clothes, after that she will move to upper carlath, just before the beacon, recommend you bring 20k and buy all her shiet

Does anyone have info on Queen Sophesia's Catalyst? I'm guessing it's the Inferno version of the Exacter Scripture, but it isn't currently mentioned on the weapons page.

This NPC is easily one of the most annoying things in this game. The devs just put in so many things that absolutely screw you over if you don't follow a walkthrough, like NPCs that just randomly relocate to an endgame zone before you could buy certain powerful items from them, forcing you to play through a huge chunk more of the game without those items.

                                                  • Anonymous

Apparently fighting the Sundered Monarch in coop will count in your own game as well. She was hostile when I got to Bramis Castle, even though it was my first time to the Vestige in the castle. Nice big waste of time.

                                                    • Anonymous

You have to progress the questline to unlock the manastone ring, Rhogar hounds and cataclysms spells. First step (after you initially unlock her store) is give her the Giants eye you get from the spurned progeny. Then she'll move to that bosses arena. Next you'll find a merchant in the second portion of upper calreth (after the cistern) - that merchant will sell the noblewoman set. Equipping the set then talking to her and exhausting the dialogue will unlock these items.

Be aware that this NPC can be missed... I didn't see her the first time I was walking this area and after beating the game wanting to change to a inferno build she its not in the cell anymore

Went to see her at the arena of the boss that drop the eyeball, she didn't give me the perfume, and then she disappeared....
