Lords of the Fallen Drustan Full Questline Walkthrough

Drustan and his brother Melchior

When you first meet Drustan in the cave at Fitzroy's Gorge, the first thing he will do is introduce himself. Oddly enough, he says the player is a "lampy", just like them. If you look at him, you will notice the lamp he's carrying on his waist. This is the story that Andreas of Ebb told you when you first met him at Skyrest Bridge, about men who brag about the lamp they carry. It seems that this young man has been deceived that what he's carrying is the legitimate Umbral Lamp, but he has no idea that he has been lied to.

Drustan thinks that he's now immortal with the fake lamp that he's carrying and brags that nothing can hurt them. He plans on making a display of himself by chopping his head off as soon as he sees his brother by the name of Melchior, he said. He laughs at his own idea and then shares the story of how his famous brother, is a knight who has fought dragons and giants. He said that he was traveling with his brother but he fell and knocked his head. When he came back to his senses, his brother was gone. He thinks that their enemies took him because Melchior would never leave him. He said that he needs to go now and look for his brother so he can become a hero. Leave this place for now and you will encounter him again later.

As you enter the big building at Lower Calrath, you will find Drustan again on a balcony below the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch (Note: Opening the door to Fief of the Chill Curse makes him skip this location, he will instead be at the third location, thus, failing the quest). There is a small doorway that leads to Drustan's second location. On this second encounter, you will notice Drustan is wearing a Helmet that looks like a bucket. He tells you that "a nice man with a little mustache" informed him that his brother was taken by "baddies" towards the castle. He is on his way to the castle but is just resting a bit. He said he managed to get a helmet that he picked up from a beheaded body.

Drustan still hasn't found Melchior but he is determined to look for him. He continues to share that Melchior said that Mournstead would be the answer to their problems, despite Drustan not knowing what those problems are. Drustan has strong faith in his brother and believes that he'll sort everything out once he finds him. At this point, you have already exhausted his dialogues. You will have the option to hand him 1x Unripe Berry in exchange for 1x Wheezing Gesture.

When you get to the Fief of the Chill Curse, Drustan has been making his way to look for his brother Melchior. However, due to the cold in the region, Drustan needed to stop and rest because he was having trouble feeling his fingers or his toes. It seems that Drustan is nearing his end and he tells you that he can't manage to light the fire in front of him due to the numbness that he's feeling. He's confident that the lamp will bring him back should he die, and he's still clueless that the lamp he carries is a fake one.

Help out Drustan by interacting with the campfire in front of him. When you do, he will tell you that he's planning on going to the Bramis Castle, because it was the last place that his brother was seen heading off to. Helping out Drustan in this area will help him further in searching for his brother Melchior.

Drustan's Location in Bramis Castle

The inner section of Bramis Castle begins either after meeting Damarose the Marked by the gates as friendly or hostile, depending on your progress with her questline. Continue on the path beyond and proceed by following the hallway and eventually, you will reach a door. Head through the door and the Bramis Castle location banner will appear. The inner section will start from here.

The area will start with a straightforward path however very distinct because of its lava terrain. Head further and you will be dealing with a Raw Mangler and a Rhogar Hound. Along the way, notice that there is a nearby storage house with barrels in it. Walk past this location or defeat the Infernal Enchantress that will block your path. Deal with the enemies that will attempt to block your way and proceed by heading in the direction that will lead you to a broken tunnel.

Head outside the broken tunnel and there is an available Umbral Flowerbed. Plant a Vestige Seedling if you wish to and notice that the path is leading to the castle's ramparts. Head there and take note of more enemies nearby. You will also see that there is a broken tower nearby. Head there where you will witness Drustan's final moments.

Notice that there is a lower area that we need to explore near the lava area. Upon heading through the area, notice that there is a broken structure that is blocked by fire. Transfer to Umbral so you can pass through it. You will be dealing with a Shrouded Remnant. After taking it out, search for the nearest platform and soulflay it for you to get across. Eventually, you will find yourself in a broken tower with a stigma in it.

Your next interaction with Drustan, or the stigma that will reveal Drustan's final moments will take place in Bramis Castle. This is the place where he thought he would be reunited with his brother but instead, this is where he met his demise. Inside the broken tower, you will find a stigma and a loot. The stigma will reveal that Drustan was resting and singing inside this tower, when he heard a scuffle from the edge. As he looked down, a Ravenous Fascinator attacked him, taking his life. Beware: The same enemy is still lurking here.

The following items can be picked up from this area:

If you watch this stigma revealing Drustan's final moments, another stigma will be unlocked for you inside the throne room at Bramis Castle. This stigma will show the fate of Melchior, where he was asking for forgiveness from his brother, for causing all of this. It turns out that Melchior had been taken and his body was incorporated into the effigy of Adyr.

Lol "If you miss him in this location, you'll find him body in the next location. If you do his quest correctly, you'll find his body in the next location"

lowkey proud of him for making it through almost the whole game without dying once and only one weapon to his name and only died by getting caught lacking by an easy to misidentify mimic, happens to the best of us man

"At this point, you have already exhausted his dialogues. You will have the option to hand him 1x Unripe Berry in exchange for 1x Wheezing Gesture."
I got the gesture regardless if I give him the berry so I wonder what is the berry for then, a condition for the quest to continue?

Quest lines of Drustan and Damarose do not conflict with each other in any way. Just confirmed it by computing both of them in the same play through.

This page doesn’t says that you MUST hand him one Unripe Berry to progress his story and keep him alive. Only after giving him one Unripe Berry his dialogue below the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch will be exhausted properly.

                ah **** really?
I ****ed up his quest because I used a key I got way before I even entered Fitzroy's Gorge.
                REALLY? man

You can lose Drustan without even talking to Damarose and doing everything right for Drustan. I did nothing to progress Damarose's questline BUT I also never cleansed a beacon before going to Bramis Castle. I wasn't trying to get a specific ending, I just started another NG+0 run for other sidequests I never finished before. So you have to cleanse at least one beacon before entering Bramis Castle so Damarose will fight you and Drustan's quest will progress. So if you plan on doing the Radiance Ending, I'd make sure to do Drustan's quest at the same time to avoid having to do multiple runs for one side quest like the idiot writing this comment.

For those of you wondering why he's not in Bramis castle despite doing everything right....I found out the hard way that his and Damarose's quests seem to conflict with eachother. If you've befriended her it auto fails Drustan's last bit since she replaces Melchior at the end and despite doing everything else right he'll never make it to the castle and his weapons will be just outside the Fief gatehouse. It's dumb but unfortunately this one time it does make sense that these conflict with eachother.

At the time I reached the fief, there was nothing to light the fire. Idk if it was a bug or smthg because I remember thinking "he's freezing maybe I can do fire or smthg to warm him up" but I spent 5 minutes walking in circle trying to find what to do and no interraction whatsoever showed up.

this guy feels like lords of the fallens version of solaire. just a jolly boy who wishes to be a hero. unfortunately, they both seem to share a similar fate...

Lad made it an awful long way before he kicked the bucket. He didn’t even need a real umbral lamp, unlike you.

You have to be careful because when it stays on Lower Calrath it can end up buggy and you press to talk to it and nothing happens, you are unable to scroll and use the flashlight

theres something missing here, i did every drustan step up to fief including the lighting the fire and he never showed up at bramis

If you missed any of the steps you can port to vestige of svornil (fief) and walk through the open gate and very short down the path on the left behind debris will be his hammer and shield. (no armor *sad face*)

                                  • Anonymous

Lighted the fire and talked to him on the third encounter ( Fief of the Chill Curse).

He's now gone and nowhere to be found in Bramis Castle
