It's been hell for me trying to find any hammer design in this game that doesn't completely underwhelm. This passes the drip check. Went +10 with it cause I have just been using this thing for pretty much my whole play through.

It's not the best in it's category. In fact, it's arguably not that great to begin with. Having a radiant rune slot basically means it's a two rune weapon. You can't really use the radiant slot outside of the special gerlinde rune, which is better than nothing...but even then? it's still just a two rune weapon.

Be that as it may, it hits really good. The blood build up is a nice cherry on top. But it doesn't really excel at anything. It's just a fun weapon. Basically a direct upgrade to the avowed mace, and after using it for as long as I have it's very obvious I was meant to replace it with some other hammer (but I haven't found any yet that I vibe with as pure STR). It's fine for now in NG, but I am going to be replacing it by NG+, or I might just go into a different weapon class altogether.

      • Why does this have a RAD rune when it's a str weapon? There is not a single RAD rune usable for this, the one that makes its weight 0 is redundant cause the weapon is so light already

Is this weapon worth using? I'm playing strength and was looking for a faster weapon for when my grand sword is too slow.
