Lords of the Fallen The Man Who Seeks the Lamp Quest Walkthrough

After meeting the NPCs inside the Hub, proceed to the tall archway that will lead you to a balcony with a beautiful view of the landscape. You will find Andreas of Ebb standing near the edge of the cliff, looking over the vast land before him. He stands tall and dons a black outfit with silver-plated chest armor. As soon as you approach him, the first thing he notices is the lamp that you're carrying, as well as the responsibilities that come with it.

Keep talking to Andreas of Ebb and exhaust his dialogues. He will tell you about his ancestor, known as the great ruler Antanas, the very same man who defied Adyr and Rhogar and saved the whole world. This honorable man that he speaks about, apparently died to a common criminal after he was betrayed. The true goal of Andreas of Ebb is that he seeks to take the lamp from you. He tries to tell you that the Lampbearer is an unfortunate victim who is shackled to such a grim fate and wishes to take that burden from you.

Andreas of Ebb claims that a man of his pedigree can't simply stand idle while a man is suffering. He pretends that he's trying to help you and reiterates once again to hand over the lamp to him. However, you can't do anything about his offer, for now.

Once you reach Forsaken Fen and defeat The Congregator of Flesh, this will lead Andreas of Ebb to further solidify his belief that what you hold is the genuine Umbral Lamp. You will find that he has moved to the interior of the Skyrest Bridge near the Vestige of Ethryg. Once you approach him, he will urge you to venture into Fief of the Chill Curse and he will hand you the Fief Key and the Map of the Fief of the Chill Curse. He will say that the world is conflicted more than ever, and what they need is a man to unite them before they tear each other apart like dogs.

NOTE: If you happen to miss the interaction above, Andreas of Ebb will leave Skyrest Bridge and he will leave the Fief Key and Map in the same location.

Your next interaction with Andreas of Ebb will happen in the same place inside Skyrest Bridge, this event will be triggered after defeating the Spurned Progeny. He will leave Andreas of Ebb's Elegantly Penned Note in the same place where you last saw him. He leaves you a note saying that he has left to venture into the Fief of Chill Curse. He even gives you advice to not cower in fear like the ones worthy of lesser merit.

Andreas of Ebb still pretends to be a friend of yours during all of this, but unknowing to the Deathless one, he has prepared a trap for them at the Fief of Chill Curse. As you explore the icy tunnel, you will first fight a monster wielding an axe that can shoot Ice Arcs in front of them. After that, a voice can be heard grunting with effort to drop a trap on top of you. If the radius of this trap hits you, you will die. Past this trap, you can pick up 1x Halting Gesture.

After the incident at Fief of Chill Curse, you will find Andreas of Ebb once again in Skyrest Bridge, but he will move to one of the alcoves in the Sleeping Quarters. He will tell you about the item he lost during a scuffle (Andreas of Ebb's Book of Lineage). This item can be obtained by interacting with a Stigma found on the Upper part of the Skyrest Bridge, in a tower behind a door accessible by the shortcut from Upper Calrath.

If you give the book back to Andreas of Ebb, he will offer to assist you. He boasts of his skills as a fine swordsman and how it is a privilege to have a man of his pedigree by your side. Otherwise, you will find him at Upper Calrath Plaza where he offers to assist again but will go back on his word. As soon as you exit the arena after defeating the Lightreaper with him, he will attack you for the lamp that you're carrying.

Does his behavior change if I don't purify the beacon?
This is my second lap. but there were no traps with falling icicles.

        • I cannot find this cave that trigger the event of the trap in Fief. I literally just beat the Hollow Crow already. I keep going back to Skyrest Bridge to see if his Stigma is there and it's not.

I killed lightreaper at Fief of the Chill Curse during 3rd encounter (without summons) and he still attacked me at Upper Calrath Plaza. For some reason tho he didn't spawn when I was going to Bramis Castle from Skyrest Bridge and only did so after I beat Adyr and went to plaza from Vestige of forgotten guardian.
