Balago is one of the Runes available in Lords of the Fallen (LotF). Balago is a rune that temporarily reduces a struck enemy's physical defense for weapons and increases physical defense for shields. It has hidden lore related to Conflagrant Seers and Infernal Enchantresses.
Conflagrant Seers andInfernal Enchantresses welcome opponents in metal armour, for the metal only serves to conduct the terrible heat of their Inferno sourceries, often cooking the occupant alive.
Where to Find Balago in Lords of the Fallen
Balago can be found in the following Location:
- Has a chance to drop from the Sanctified Huntress enemy in The Empyrean.
- This item drops from the Sanctified Huntress enemies.
Balago effect in Lords of the Fallen
Balago can be socketed into Weapons and Shields. It can only be inserted into Inferno or Meta rune slots.
Balago's effect vary according to where it is socketed in:
- Weapon function: Temporarily reduces a struck enemy's physical defence.
- Shield function: Increasess physical defence.

AnonymousDoing some testing, with the Stat Stick, and it's actually better than a 10% increase in damage.
But only when you already have a bunch other runes active... if used in tandem it definitely out plays another 10% from any the other runes. But requires a inferno slot in a weapon somewhere.
It appears to increase damage by increments whenever you attack, but it's very hard to tell by how much and how long it lasts. Also no idea if they stack. Still though only useful on fast dual wield weapons like daggers and shortswords but at that point you might as well use those runes that increase damage for dual wielding.

When it says reduce phys resistance temporarily, how much is reduced and for how long?? If the increase is 10% then 1 would assume the decrease is atleast equal to it or maybe slightly higher at maybe 15%. Havnt got this 1 yet so i cant test it.

adds about 100 phys defense when put in a shield, severely better than the strength variant which adds 10. lol

this rune is god-sent on physical weapons that has Inferno slots and no Inferno scaling, like Proselyte Sword, Sword Of Skin And Tooth, Faithful Bludgeon...
