Crafter's Essence is one of the Runes available in Lords of the Fallen (LotF). Crafter's Essence is a rune that lowers a weapon's weight and stat requirements to 0, and it does the same for shields.
As Gerlinde prepared to take the life of her slave, he thought back on countless lifetimes' worth of experiences and memories, and was struck by a revelation which filled him with profound grief: it wasn't enough.
Where to Find Crafter's Essence in Lords of the Fallen
Crafter's Essence can be found in the following Location:
- Rewarded by Gerlinde in Skyrest Bridge after choosing to give the final Rune Tablet to her instead of Sparky.
(Requires a reload of the area after making your choice.)
Crafter's Essence effect in Lords of the Fallen
Crafter's Essence can be socketed into Weapons and Shields. It can only be inserted into Radiance or Meta rune slots.
Crafter's Essence's effect vary according to where it is socketed in:
- Weapon function: Lower a weapon's weight and stat requirement to 0.
- Shield function: Lower a shield's weight and stat requirement to 0.

Another use for this rune: put it on a weapon that is really heavy and also has stat reqs that it really doesn't scale well with. Bloody Glory, Justice, and Crushing Gaze all come to mind. This allows you to wear much heavier armor than you'd normally be able to with said weapon, and spare you from wasting levels on stats that really won't help your damage much anyway.

Put this on Ravager Gregory's Sword along with Gravix and Shon, plus a Jeffrey's with three Gravix on a pure faith build, and you, my friend, are in business.

For reason reason I currently have 3 lol I thought having one was pretty op now I have three! A bug maybe?
There is a way of claiming the ones you "received" it works because of the rune unequip "bug", dunno if it works for everyone, never saw this mentioned anywhere:
1- equip a weapon, install the rune on it, unequip weapon, main menu and back in
(when back in, the essence should be unattached because of the "bug")
2- equip another weapon, install the rune on it, unequip weapon, main menu and back in
(essence unattached)
3- equip both weapons and both should have the essence, now you are free to install the 2 on other weapons, just dont have them unattached at the same time or you will have to do it all again

So do we only get one of these now, the first time through? I just turned in the full Rune Tablet in my second playthrough, gave it to Gerlinde, and I didn't get the rune. My friend did his second playthrough a couple weeks ago but got the rune.

On the current patch 1.1.414/415, slotting this rune in a weapon and putting it into the storage coffer seemingly results in a complete loss of the crafter's essence rune.

I know my question doesnt have anything to do with Crafter's Essence sorry. Can anyone tell me please what is the difference between "Increase Inferno scaling" and "Increase Inferno attribute scaling"?

the fact this only fits in Radiance slots is ****ing absurd. make it a special rune that can go in any slot, is that so hard?

can you cheese the game by creating an new character, give the rune to an friend hop into your main character and have your friend trade back the rune to have 2 of them in the same character?

It seems like you can only get the Crafters Essence 1 time. I've turned in all rune tablets 2 more times since getting the first one, even restarted the game thinking it may be a bug. But so far I seems to be stuck only being able to have one Crafters Essence

I think this item is bugged I was using the iron wayfarer hammer and doing over 1000 per charged attack after putting this rune in my charged attacks were around 750 it's like the strength scaling was disabled

Well thia bugged on me. I gave her all three tablets, reloaded the area and Sparky was gone. And it registered her saying here as if giving me the runw but I dont have it in my inventory. PS5 bug maybe?

Surely this game doesn't have a busted 50 weight shield with 3 meta rune slots that's only held back by it's weight...
Straight broken, you basically can powerstsnce ultras for no weight if u get this in both of them, via dupe or other way.

So thats the drill: you CAN trade a weapon with that rune equipped to say give it to yer new character, with a help of a friend, but he or you may ever only have ONE rune on your character, if you get another one it deletes itself (so your trading frien must not have obtained this either). Kinda goofy but understandable
