Lords of the Fallen The Way of the Bucket Clue
"When time came to do or die, they emerged from their throes,
With meagre improvisations, spreading such desperate blows.
Should you as well seek meaning in these humble souls' disguise,
Don makeshift twin attire and find the one that lies.
Salute, attest and once more show honour to their semblance,
And you’ll amass the sincere gifts of one held in remembrance.
Yet hoard not without measure, show mutual regard,
For greed amongst the downtrodden is seen as truly marred."
The Way of the Bucket Quest Guide LotF
Lords of the Fallen (LotF) The Bucket Guy Location
- Main Location: Pilgrim's Perch
- Nearest Vestige: Vestige of Chabui
The Bucket Guy or Bucketlord can be found in the area near the Scourged Sister Delyth arena. To access this location, travel to the Vestige of Chabui and climb the ladder in front of the Vestige. After climbing up, walk down the narrow path ahead of you. You will find the Bucketlord sitting behind the steel bars. This is also the same location where you initially found the Broken Bucket.
Where to Find The Way of the Bucket New Gesture LotF
- Main Location: Skyrest Bridge (leading to Pilgrim's Perch )
- Nearest Vestige: Vestige of Chabui
The Bucketlord's Salute (Gesture) can be found in the area outside the Vestige of Chabui. Head outside to the wooden platforms where multiple enemies await you. You can run past them, or eliminate these enemies. Then, climb the wooden stairs to the left with your back against the Vestige of Chabui. Then, drop down to the platform with breakable boxes to your left. You will get the x1 Bucketlord's Salute after destroying the boxes. This will be used for the new questline The Way of the Bucket.
The first thing you need to do is to collect the Bucketlord's Salute that is found on the platforms outside the Vestige of Chabui. After retrieving it, you will return to the Vestige of Chabui, and then climb the ladder to the left. This will take you to a higher level with a narrow path. Walk down the path until you reach the end and you will see The Bucket Guy seated on the ground behind the steel bars.
NOTE: The quest is bugged for some players. While other options may not be working for you, it may work for others. The same thing could be said the other way around. Try the following options:
- Unequip everything including accessories such as Rings and Throwables. Then, equip the Broken Bucket in the Main Hand and the Condemned Set or
- Unequip everything down to accessories such as Rings and Throwables. Equip the Broken Bucket in the Main Hand.
Take out your Umbral Lamp in front of you to cross the steel bars. While facing the Bucket Guy, wear the Broken Bucket and use the following Gestures: Greeting, Pointing Downward, and Bucketlord's Salute. After doing this series of Gestures, the Bucket Guy will now tell you: "The pride of the Bucketlords has been reaffirmed."
NOTE: The Way of the Bucket quest is bugged for some players. Others have reported that you have to use ALL the emotes on your quick bar and use the Bucketlord's Salute last. Make sure to let each of the Gesture finish before doing the next one, as this may cause them to be unrecognized.
Your next goal is to defeat the sinners, or non-remembrance bosses found throughout. One of them is The Sacred Resonance of Tenacity, which is one of the bosses found in Pilgrim's Perch. You can find this location in the upper area of the Pilgrim's Perch, by the mouth of the cavern that leads out to a waterfall. This area is through the door near the Bellroom Vestige (Vestige of Blind Agatha), which requires the Pilgrim's Perch Key. After the fight, you will find the Pride of the Bucketlords dropped right in the middle of the doorway.
You will need to collect 3 more of these Pride of the Bucketlords, and then take them back to the Bucket Guy in Skyrest Bridge to exchange for a piece of armor.
NOTE: Players may only carry up to 4 of the Pride of the Bucketlords, if you carry an extra, this will cause the quest to fail, locking you out of completing it. Players may need to start a new character or an NG+ run to attempt this quest once more. This part is possibly hinted by these 2 lines from the clue:
Yet hoard not without measure, show mutual regard,
For greed amongst the downtrodden is seen as truly marred.
The Pride of the Bucketlords can be found in the arena of every sinner, or non-remembrance Bosses in Lords of the Fallen. Every 4 buckets will give you a piece of the Bucket Guy's armor that you can obtain by delivering 4 Pride of the Bucketlords to the Bucket Guy in Skyrest Bridge. Delivering the first 4 buckets will reward you with the Bucketlord Shoes, the next one will give you the Buckelord Helm. For the third and final set of buckets, you will get a new message from the Bucket Guy 'Seek Gold Amidst Flames'. This area refers to Lower Calrath which is visibly on fire where the Gilded Bucket covered in golden coloring can be found.
To find the Gilded Bucket, travel to the Vestige of Lydia the Numb Witch, and go to where you fight the first Ruiner, near a large burning tree in the middle. Past this fight, there is a new section that you can explore. Look for the newly-opened door that you can go inside to retrieve the Golden Bucket in Lords of the Fallen.

I got a bucket from "KINRANGR GUARDIAN FOLARD" and they aren't on the list? Is this new or something?
- Anonymous
Somehow or idk why da hell in my ng+1 trophy hunter run, he literally able to hit me and so am I can lock-on him too in the skinteller sub boss. Btw I have 5 bucket and I already did his quest in ng+0 rerun before.
- Anonymous
he will make all sub bosses very easy. He attacked me at Skinstealer miniboss, so I had to fight both at the same time. This is because I had 4 bucketspride when I started the fight, however before this, I went to him to trade for these but I could not talk to him.
- Anonymous
The directions are very incorrect, it's the second ruiner you encounter that you're supposed to pass up. It's where you get a lantern upgrade in lower calrath.
- Anonymous
Is it possible to get rid of him somehow? I've grabbed 5 items and now iot's so annoying to seem him on every boss fight!
- Anonymous
Question, watching videos of game play tell me this is on the outdated Unreal 4 engine. Yes? Why, game has so much to offer but through a outdated game engine. That's why charecters look awfull, move like they are on roller blades and keeps the gameplay from reaching the heights of others of its kind. Is it that difficult to implement the engine to that of the Unreal 5 engine and simply deliver? Or will it remain on a outdated engine with new age ideas?

Quest is bugged. He dies not do a thing after the emote. Nothing. No suprise as this game is wonky and had a feeling it wouldn't work based off things that don't or suppose to work do not. Glad the quest was for crap rewards so again, wasting time on crap we don't need, nor works. Focus on character movements, character creation and solid souls or lies of p combat.
Still waiting...though I don't play as devs claiming it to get better. Doesn't, wait..Doesn't till It gets deleted and forgotten.

Turned the first set of 4 and got the item. Collected the next 3 and inventory is showing 2 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Anonymous
I gave the first set but it didn’t give me anything…
Now I’m lacking some shoes :(
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
If you grab more than 4 before trying to turn them in, bucket-lord will then help the bosses instead of you.
- Anonymous
Yall can go back to the boss rooms and grab the items from them. Just don’t be like me and forget about the limit and auto fail. That part is honestly the dumbest thing.
- Anonymous
So I can already see this as a pointless quest unless your starting a new game. As there are just enough bosses for all the buckets needed. So for 90% or more of the players are SOL. They should have had the bucket in the now dead boss area's to collect. Instead if you so much as beat 1 previously your out and this entire quest is broke. Why am I not suprised. So far this game is enjoying. Yet the devs keep screwing up the balance with nerfs and buffs. This intern is most annoying esp when it makes zero sense. The Halloween event was available regardless. This is not really anything. It's a quest available to new players or those just starting the quest. On top of that it's bugged for most. Hell I got rid of my broken bucket simply becouse it was not a quest item and have no storage and useless weapon. God I hope this crap ends. I have a feeling most will just say F this game before even finishing it at the current rate the devs put the balance of the game in. Now we need a patch to fix the glitches in the quest and the ability to get a bucket peice if the boss was killed already. Otherwise who cares. Work on the frame rate, charecter creation so mine does not look like crap and a storage area.

Seems this quest is bugged in many ways.
Received the shoes and the weapon but not the helmet.

If you do this from the beginning and not just collecting the items from dead bosses, the bucket guy will help you fight each boss, which is kind of cool. However if you have 4 buckets, on the next boss he will help the boss instead. Also cool. But now he has helped two bosses and I put him down both times. I cannot interact with him to give him buckets, so it seems like he is going to be an annoyance for the rest of these fights. Glad this is an ng0 rerun, otherwise he would be making these bosses way harder and I'd be stuck with that.
Have turned in all 12 (4 at a time), been told to seek gold amidst flames, come to where the door should be open to grab the Gilded Bucket but the door won't open. Any ideas?
The only thing that went different than expected was I had already cleared all the mini-bosses but one so only had to pick up the quest items from the ground. But at one (the twins at the Manse) I hadn't beaten them and as the fight started that bucket guy joined the fight; I didn't need to beckon him or anything. But that seemed like a good thing, right? Wouldn't fail the entire quest at the end for the item?

Incorrect info posted. You only need to equip the buckets as your main weapon. Nothing else. Then the proper gesture order which is "greeting" then, "point down" then finally "bucket gesture" then you talk to the NPC and you get a message basically confirming the guestline
I was stuck in the beginning of the quest where you emote at Buckethead. So he will not automatically speak to you after doing the gestures you have to manually interact with him to get the message you're looking for.
