This is an optional boss, as players do not need to defeat it to advance in Lords of the Fallen (LOTF). The Best Tips for Crimson Rector Percival:
- Recommended Spells: Inferno Spells
- Recommended Items: Raw Mangler Axe, Poison Salts, Fire Salts
Crimson Rector Percival wields a sword that can be imbued with radiance and can deal a number of AoE Smite damage attacks. This can be removed via the Umbral Parasites in this area. In addition to this, getting hit by his sword will build up Bleed. A number of his attacks will be a combination of relatively slow-moving melee strikes. While his weapon glows, this will also build up Smite. With his alignment to Radiance, the Crimson Rector Percival also has the ability regenerate to once in a while which will force you to play aggressively against him to prevent prolonging the fight which can also be affected by the Umbral Parasites.
Throughout the fight, he tends to strafe while holding a blocking stance or on-guard stance, ready to strike. Once he approaches, you can expect 2-3 melee swings and strikes. Despite his movement speed, he has an agile approach and can quickly advance and follow up with the combo which can also be performed while slowly advancing. Crimson Rector Percival will repeat the same sequence throughout the fight. When he repositions watch out for this specter clone he produces that can deal an additional melee attack on its own.
In between his combo attacks, he will hold his final stance for a brief period. While dodging and blocking his attacks, attempt to reposition yourself to the side and charge up an attack to maximize your damage. Keep a distance and allow him to approach so you anticipate his attack upon his approach and prepare to counter. Mirror him by Side hopping when he does to keep to his back or side. Once you notice his sword's radiance run out, prepare for his imbue action which can knock you down if you're within his proximity. Wait out his attack combos and charge your attacks to quickly deplete his HP.

Forsaken grenades and poison salts will melt right thru this guy and his healing.

Key to the 2nd phase is using the umbral parasites around the area to keep removing his radiance (yellow aura) ASAP. He cannot heal when the radiance is off.

Bucketlord/Bucket guy was randomly sitting on the ground and started beating him better than any previous npc summon. Think he would have finished the fight without my input.
Wasn't summoned, but had started the bucket quest. Maybe try bucket quest if struggling? We got him first time so don't know if he respawns... then both did bucket salute and got another bucket... found you can go back to old bosses and do bucket salute and bucket still drops. I've said bucket too much. But yeah, probably wouldn't have gone so well without BG.

On fais comment pour l'invoquer ? Il faut purifier le premiers autel ou non ?

Devs are regarded. Why give a boss free healing? I swear he used it 8 times before I beat him. Literally two health bars, lmao.

Prevent him from healing by soulflaying the f* out of him. Hes tethered!

The fact that he disappears because I progressed a little to far to the right path really upset me.. almost makes me want to delete my character and start over ..

"Regenerates once in a while"
He literally casted it like five times a row. He keeps spamming heals unless you melt him and make no mistakes.
I got the 2nd ring from him, but when I was helping a lampbearer aka was summoned in someone else's world. Didn't think it was possible, but guess yeah, rings aren't quest items.

That guy was really easy with the Angel's Axe +4 double handed. Just dodge behind him when he attacks and press R2 which makes a powerfull downward swing that ALWAYS staggers him! Just in case I removed most of the Umbral parasites, which seemd to prevent him to heal and get buffed!?
The run back to this guy sucked hard though... I never know when to use a vetige seed and when to spare them. 8)

I found that perfect blocking worked really well against him. Staggering him drops his buffs. He only seemed to summon his clones when he had his buff going.
When he was healing, I would just hit him once, which made him attack, then perfect blocked that. Seemed to stun him out of the heal.

Guide says he's strong against burn, recommends fire salts in strategy guide. Big brain time.

Page should note that if you progress too far into the game without lighting beacons, you will not be able to fight him due to Damarose' questline. Killing him will not altar Damarose' questline at all, but you will be locked out of the ring he drops. The rest of his loot is available from farming the respawning lesser versions so loosing him for those possible drops isn't as much of an issue

His regen (+ his smite aura/imbuement overall) can be removed via the Umbral parasites or w/e in his arena.

If anyone is struggling, this is a dps race. Stay aggressive and try hitting him from behind when he heals. It's also easier with a faster weapon

This boss didn't spawn to me in my game, before I found out about him I advanced too far and killed The Lightreaper, I don't know if that's why make he didn't spawn to me.

I don't know if this boss is glitched or something but every time I get his health low he heals faster than my attacks do damage, effectively making him invincible. He did it 6 times in a single fight, while I currently have 5 healing charges. Seriously?
died a few times, it was mainly him healing that was the trouble! took the poison advice and switched to precision hammer (80 poison) which i then upgraded to +2. i then immediately took him out relatively easily. i just tried to a) maintain his poison status and b) block/evade and not take too much damage. it worked a treat, thanks guys this game and wiki are amazing
