Elianne the Starved is a Colossal Boss in Lords of the Fallen (LotF). Elianne the Starved can be found in Mother's Lull. This is an optional boss that is exclusive to players who reach Mother's Lull as part of the Umbral Ending in Lords of the Fallen (LOTF). Bosses are powerful enemies that add challenging experiences to the game. Defeating them grants players with rare and/or unique armaments, armor, magic, and other items. In some cases, they are required to advance the story further.

Where to Find Elianne the Starved Boss in Lords of the Fallen

  • Elianne the Starved is located in Mother's Lull as part of the Umbral Ending. There are several steps players will need to complete to obtain this ending and face Elianne. This comes after obtaining Harkyn's Umbral Parasite and placing it in an open slot in Skyrest Bridge.
  • Players can then speak to Molhu to learn about another target which will lead you to speak to Pieta. Use Soulflay on Pieta when prompted to reveal her parasite, by doing so, this will take you into a boss fight against Elianne the Starved. Players can then acquire Elianne's Umbral Parasite to proceed with the Umbral Ending.

Elianne the Starved LOTF Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Elianne the Starved:

  • Recommended Spells: Aura of Tenacity, Latimer's Javelin
  • Recommended Items: Smite Resistance Balm
  • Recommended Eyes:
  • During the spiral of eyeballs, get into a corner and do ranged damage.
  • After you defeat a reflection, be ready to run to her to deliver a grievous strike.
  • Odd Stone (Large holy and wither defense) - Note: It disappears from your inventory after starting a new game.

Elianne the Starved wields a sword and can deal a number of Umbral magic spells that can litter the whole boss area. She has some of the same move sets and spells previously seen during the fight against Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal, which include a few Holy spells that can inflict Smite, with the addition of some new Umbral spells and attacks. She can produce additional alters and specters that can each deal their own attacks and dives as seen with Pieta. She will also periodically release a flurry of Umbral orbs that can fill the arena forcing you to keep tabs on the area around you while fighting off Elianne and her reflections and specters. Reflections can be absorbed by Elianne to heal based on their missing health. The Umbral orbs can be released in different densities, frequencies, and patterns depending on the type of attack. At times she can even anchor down a staff which will periodically release these orbs, or deal a strike that will send out of flurry of them. Aside from the amount on orbs, she deals a number of AoE and powerful fast-paced umbral attacks mixed with holy attacks.

This encounter gives you the space to move around so you will need to position yourself and move strategically around the area to avoid getting overwhelmed with the active elements during the match. As much as possible, if she is not surrounded by hazards, run into her and deal combo attacks or charged heavy attacks for a chance to knock her down and extend your window to attack. Clear the elections as they appear so that you do not take any unexpected damage. Look for openings to charge into her and dodge any surrounding hazards orbs and remnants of spells. Her spells are generally telegraphed and you will be able to anticipate her upcoming strikes as she lifts her swords. When she starts to glow or charge up, she will be preparing for an umbral spell attack, so you can take extra precautions by distancing yourself once you notice a shift in her animation. Like during Pieta's fight she can also summon a set of hovering swords that will briefly be suspended above the ground before dropping. Once you notice these indicators, you will know when to sprint out of the way. Wait for each attack combo to play out and run in between attacks to attack her so unless her next magic attack.

Elianne the Starved Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Sword Melee Swing Encompasses overhead, forehand, and backhand strikes and swings.  Dodge or block these incoming attacks

Reflection charge Its altar can dive down in a swooping charge attack Dodge out of the way as they face down.
Umbral orbs anchor Slow-moving projectile orbs are steadily released from a staff once it is planted on the ground.  Run away and avoid these orbs as they approach. They are slow-moving and easy to avoid as long as you are not overwhelmed with other attacks.

Latimer javelin is the key. Also do this fight on ng 0.and dont forget to buy all remembrance before placing the parasite

This is a worse version of Pieta in every way. Pieta's magic and summons are very balanced for the mechanics of the game, and here they're dialed to 11 which means it quickly becomes a ganky, magic spammy, arena wide AOE garbage cluster****. Add to that the boss' bullet hell and AOE one shot potential and we've got some lovely game design. I wonder if the devs would play their own fight and enjoy it.

This boss would have been better without the clone and with more moves/less magic spam. As it is, it's a worse Pieta.

This boss is a practice make perfect for of boss. Practice only dodging and getting in melee attacks. After you can time and dodge the 3 consecutive beam combo while fighting a clone and not even having the main on screen is when I was ready to mix in spells.

Stack armor with max wither defense that keeps you light.

+10 Lord Berescu's Catalyst with Radiant ring to mix Lucent Beam and Latimer's Javalin.

I found that I did not damage by Luscent Beam overall versus the greivous strikes you get from a clone dieing.

The 8 seconds of Immunity from the Pale Butcher Eyeball is clutch for finishing off the bosses remaining health.

Honestly this boss is cimply pure trash and garbage, people call it hard and its way too hard, not even like cool hard just annoying hard

              • Anonymous

This fight is probably a LOT more smooth if you're using a weapon class that can 'sneak' hits in between the strikes of her combos, since at the end of most of them she flies away. Long Sword made the fight a pain because there was a single gap you could cheat a hit in (slam > charged slam), otherwise you'd eat a hit.

                • Anonymous

This fight is just ridiculous on new game plus. I'm not this **** but man she has just insane health and can still one shot me despite me having 70 vigor. Balancing is all off for this

                  • Anonymous

Finally killed her with enhanced poison javelins and hushed saint's halberd. This fight is a marathon, not a sprint. Quality build. It would probably be pretty easy for a different build, but this is what I was stuck with.

It took about 8-9 javelins to poison, then you just wait for her to split. Deal as much damage as you can, safely, to the image. If you are using a faster build this probably will not be hard. When the image vanishes after about 2-3min, she will regain health based on the image's remaining health. It is honestly not a bit deal, just reload your ammo and poison her again, smacking her occasionally when there is an opening.

Rinse and repeat, there isn't really a difficulty spike in this fight other than one move where she summons an umbral and radiant clone for 1 attack, and then sits back and lasers you. Don't get greedy when she does the eyeball spam attack.

All that being said, I did not enjoy this fight. Hitbox was annoying, (I could not use my fist weapons well, and I tried other weapons, but I ended up using an un-upgraded poison halberd just help with applying poinson) and the fight was just sooo long. I thought the Lightreaper had a lot of hp on NG+, and the dragon sequence was annoying, but damn, this ***** was the worst.

There should be a note to give your remembrance before you kill mogul guy. I did a whole run just to get her sword and because I killed him I have to do it all over agin

                      • Anonymous

The Umbral orbs make the fight nearly impossible. They deplete your Health in split seconds, and some of them do physical damage in order to kill you.

                        • Anonymous

Buddy, this chick has a billion health in NG+3. The fight was very tough even for someone who one shotted all other bosses in NG+3 and is level 450. Like dang, they upped her stats big time for NG+3. I also do not recommend doing Umbral ending on NG+3 as the Mother's Lull is a pain to run back to unless you leave your seedling down there for 80% of the game and are confident you die at any point lol.

                          • Anonymous

I'm collecting endings and gear via ng+0, for those just looking to achieve the endings and unlocks classes that's probably your best bet against her if you're having excessive troubles.

                            • I really screwed myself having killed off Gerlinde and not having any way to upgrade another weapon so I kept going after Elianne with my Fallen Lord's (Grand) Sword; not ideal for this fight. Kept getting a little closer for a couple of hours until finally, she dodged behind the chains at one side and was stuck. It affected the copy of her as well. I think a single beam shot out one time but it was all over after that glitch; I just nuked her while she was stuck.

Putting it out there in case it helps anyone. It happened when she'd been made vulnerable after I took out the copy and Elianne is open to a grievous attack. I raced over but was late in attacking so she sort of dodged backward and that was when she got stuck behind the chain.

Shame because it's kind of a fun fight and I think I was getting pretty close. If I couldn't solo her then I was going to summon help. Oh well. Would fight again with a faster weapon.

I agree with some of these people, fighting her in new game + feels ****ing impossible.... I've had multiple people help me and they all rage quit after being one shot by her, the battles take what seems forever only to have her health not even get passed half.. then to make things worse damaging her umbral double does nothing to her real body... essentially making her HP ridiculously MASSIVE.... worst part is I can't try any other builds or weapons since gerlinde and pieta are now dead

                                • Anonymous

Compared to Adyr its an actual final boss and not a sequence of some loser begging not to get capped. I liked it, even tho yes the base template of the fight is Pieta, its also enhanced in kinda fun way. One thing tho obviously, this is dervla's arena we are talking about, idk about rest but for me its the single worst optimised place in the game and at worst point game lagged EVERY time she attacks.

                                  • Anonymous

What's wrong with this boss in NG+1? 10 minutes of fighting and maybe 1/10 of your life! she keeps running away + countless life!

                                    • Anonymous

Frame rate goes to **** on PS5 when she summons her holy and umbral forms. Makes dodging or predicting her ranged attacks almost impossible

                                      • Anonymous

This games bosses spend 90% of the fight running away from the player and summoning.
It really ****ing kills the pace of the game. The bosses look so damned cool but am I **** spending most of the fight chasing them down again. It wasn't so bad in NG and NG+ but as soon as you get higher the enemies have so much health that it just becomes a ****ing chore.

Not to mention how bad summoning for this fight is, couldn't summon ransoms or friends and they couldn't summon me either, ****ing waste of potential and money

                                        • Anonymous

her hitbox aint legit at all got the same issue standing right in her face and whiff THROUGH her hitbox for at lest 30% of my hits really needs a little rework

                                          • Anonymous

she flies nearly ot of dager range... poor design let her hover closer to the ground you whiff like 60% of your hits with daggers really dumg design

                                            • Anonymous

I can't beat her in ng+1, i try in co-op, i try with with 15 different players no way! We never even got half of the HP from this boss

                                              • Anonymous

If anyone wants to coop this boss in ng+ hit me up. I could definitely use some help with beating her. She has way too damn much health.

                                                • Anonymous

Wow, this is the true final boss. It was worth every single ounce of fun and struggle in the game to finally face this umbral angel. The fight itself is so fun and really gives you adrenaline for how aggressive she is. That part in the last phase where she summons both holy and wither clones to attack you at once is one of the most badass moments I've had in a video game. Easily my favorite boss.

                                                  • Anonymous

Boss is fairly simple to fight. You just fight her like you would Pieta, but with less parry abusing her because she has a significantly higher poise.
When she sword slashes, dodge through and (if your weapon is fast enough) hit her once before you dodge through the next. Just keep watching her sword specifically to notice if she's extending her combo out. If her sword switches to holy after those two slashes, expect her to do another two hit with the holy version. When she slams her sword down, dodge through and do the same - attack if you have a fast enough attack, then quickly dodge the next hit to hit her a couple times again.
If she does Pieta's laser you dodge it with the same timing(the moment you see her sword come down), but this time you dodge it three times. After a couple times of that, you'll have the timing down instinctive enough that you can time the dodges without needing to see her movements. Any time you see her gather her wings around herself, prep to dodge through a blast the moment her wings begin to open. She has two different versions of this. One is a blast around herself that shouldn't hit you if you're a bit away, and that's a quick power up before she summons a clone (or her or the clone is going to dash across the arena. They'll only do that AFTER moving to the far end of the boss room). The other version is a massive room wide blast that will rip a chunk of your hp if you don't dodge it. That one, she'll do every time after she does the move where she plants her sword in the center of the room and send out a flurry of eyeballs spiraling around her.
When she summons a clone, just fight it the same as her. It has a more limited moveset, mostly just doing the same sword slashes and ground slams as her. The real one will stop taking damage while it's alive. The real one will primarily spam eyeball summons during this, but occasionally do something like blast her lasers off at you, so just dodge it like you would normally (this is where getting the timings memorized so you can do it without watching her kicks in. She makes a distinctive sound when she charges up her sword beforehand that you can recognize so you don't need to see her to know she's doing it.)
Everything she does except for the eyeballs and when she sends out that shockwave are the same as when you fight Pieta. She is just what Pieta could have been if she'd given into the Umbral instead of absolute devotion to Orius. On a plus side, the eyeballs do wither damage, so you can get back a lot of that damage when you attack her of you eat a couple of them. She's a bit harder than Judge Cleric, bot not anything super difficult. You beat Lightreaper to get here and he was significantly more punishing in his moveset.

Idk if this was a bug or not but i could summon Kukajin for her. If you die and try again, the game will spawn you in front of the arena and Kukajin will be on the right just before the boss fog

                                                      • Anonymous

what a trash fight i dont want to sit there for hours just to get 1 hit in for low damage on a high health boss this boss never leaves an opening and the signs to show u have a opening are redicoulous half the time it shows theres no holy attack with it then bam i stike and theres a extra attack as soon as i hit it seems like a impossible fight

                                                        • Anonymous

What a dissapointment. I was so excited to fight this boss my entire 2nd playthrough. Thought it was gonna be another amazing one like judge cleric, but nope she just spawns clones and runs away constantly
