The Unbroken Promise is a Colossal Boss in Lords of the Fallen (LotF). The Unbroken Promise takes control of the fallen body of Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight, and can be also be found in Revelation Depths. Her encounter represents the second phase of the Boss encounter against the Harrower Dervla, the Pledged Knight and begins immediately after she is defeated. The Unbroken Promise is a martyr that can use Umbral magic to command a couple of bolts or nails. Defeating this boss will unlock the Achievement: Unbroken to the End. This not an optional boss, as players will need to defeat it to advance in Lords of the Fallen (LOTF). Bosses are powerful enemies that add challenging experiences to the game. Defeating them grants players with rare and/or unique armaments, armor, magic, and other items. In some cases, they are required to advance the story further.

The Unbroken Promise LOTF Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for The Unbroken Promise:

The Unbroken Promise uses the same body as Dervla, so she wields the same sword with some enhanced attacks that add range and size. Sword strikes now produce slash projectiles and a sword strike on the ground will emit a shockwave of energy that can be blocked, but will cause Wither. The Unbroken Promise will have a larger reach, but can be treated similarly to how Dervla was dealt with until the second phase.

Phase 2

When approaching half health, The Unbroken Promise will have two bolts or nails hovering over her attached to her chains and shackles. These have their own set of attacks that can hover separately and strike down. These bolts will have homing abilities that will trail you and strike for a brief period. They also have another attack where they continuously strike down while trailing the player. You will need to continuously run until they reattach themself. A majority of the other attacks are directional ranged attacks also relying on the hovering bolts. They are usually linear and you will be able to track the path or anticipate the direction if you are spaced enough from The Unbroken Promise. Playesr will need to be conservative with their stamina since these are quick projectiles. You will need dodge to either side of these attack paths to avoid taking damage. Backing up will not take you out of the path of damage since they have a long range. It will be difficult to approach The Unbroken Promise during this phase, but there will be openings in between attacks or even during some attacks if you manage to avoid the path of her ranged attacks. She will not deploy another attack as one is being played out. So, while a ranged or projectile attack is being dealt, you an try to circle behind her to begin your attacks.

Keep rotating around The Unbroken Promises to decrease the chances of getting caught in the paths of her linear ranged attacks. You can then adjust your proximity as you go dnd roll out of the way for more immediate attacks. This fight is more easily completed with a companion to direct The Unbroken Promise so that one can focus on flanking her while she continues to fire her projectiles and ranged slash attacks.

This boss is only a required boss if you're following the Umbral ending, isn't it? There's no reason to fight it if you're doing Radiance or Inferno, unless you're trying to finish Dunmire's quest.

I'm not 100% sure, but I threw a spear at him and hit hit around the head/upperbody area of the boy and it looked like it did 2k dmg while a spear elsewhere did around 200-300. Glitch or super hard weakness in case you hit it?

Does anyone know what the alter does on top of the skull inside the boss room? Said something like "Seek Scourings" to me when clicking the interact button next to the well looking alter..

I have to question this boss getting their own page when they're exclusively a phase of a different boss's fight. It'd be like King of the Storm and Nameless King being counted as two separate bosses
